Round 13 against Collingwood this weekend is not just another 4 points by any stretch of the imaginaton, no matter what anyone says. This is probably the biggest game we have played since the 2007 loss to Port Adelaide at AAMI stadium in the semi-final. Yes i realise we made a prelim last year, but after being the wooden spooners in 2010, we were never going to push Geelong in Victoria, and the 8 goal thumping was an accurate reflection of where the 2 teams were at.

This year however we've been top of the table the whole season, yet we still have our doubters. We're being labelled flat track bullies, duckers, umpire pets, pretenders with an easy draw. And guess what, if we lose this game by a fair margin we could slip back to 5th on the ladder by the end of the round behind Sydney, Collingwood, Adelaide and Essendon. Now considering we still have to play Sydney, Adelaide, Collingwood, Hawthorn and Geelong at some stage in the last 8 games, we are no certainty to make top 4, let alone get a home prelim which we all know gives us our best shot at a Grand Final birth.

Im also sick of seeing us lose to Collingwood. We havent beaten them anywhere since 2007, and you have to go back to 1995 since we last beat the Pies at the MCG. 1995 are you heckin'g kidding me?!?! Couple that with our recent form with a loss against Brisbane and an unconvincing win against an undermanned Carlton at home and you can see why we are paying $3 to win despite being on top of the table. Well stuff all that - we need a statement game. Similar to the one we produced in 2006 when we rofl-stomped Adelaide at home by 82 points when everyone said the Crows were premiership fancies.

Great teams set themselves for big games that can be the turning point of a season. This has to be the match that Worsfold and our chargers come ready with the mindset to play with finals intensity for 4 quarters. Regardless of whose in and out for both teams, this is our season defining game. Were not the cinderella feel-good story of the year in 2012, or the surprise packet that is catching teams off guard and reaping praise from eastern state scribes. This year were public enemy #1 and its about time we stuck it up all those prictorians who desperately want to see us fail and claim we are no good away from Subi.

Lose this game by 5+ goals like everyone expects and we fall back to the pack and make another token finals series. Beat the pies on the home of football and we've got an exciting and realistic prospect of bringing the cup back to WA this September. There are no excuses for an average performance. We've had another long break since our last game and should be ready to fire on all cylinders. Lets hope our boys turn up and fck up the Pies for the first time in 17 years at the MCG.

C'MON EAGLES!!!!!!!!!!!!!
