Ophidian Old Boys
Back in Season 33, while assembling the expansion side for Season 34, I was trawling the Hawks board in search of raw, exciting qooty talent. That’s when I spotted her; a young, bright eyed, shiny coated hyperactive poodle named Fleabane, sprinting around with absurd speed, agility, and the kind of enthusiasm that makes qooty recruiters start filling out paperwork on the spot. It was immediately clear that with a little polish, some worm medicine and the Old Boys development program behind her, Fleabane had the makings of something special.
Fast‑forward six seasons and Fleabane’s delivered on every bit of that promise and some. The Flea reaches her 100‑game milestone in Round 1 of Season 41 carrying a trophy cabinet that any canine would envy:
Fleabane has been everything you’d want in an Old Boy: relentless, loyal, energetic, and always ready to chase down whoever dares line up against her and then chase the qooty for another 50 meters just to make a point. She’s been a brilliant presence at Spotswood and a cornerstone of the club’s identity, not only through her play but through her ability to lean into her canine persona and deliver humor at every opportunity.
Congratulations on 100 games, Fleabane; a champion teammate, a nightmare opponent and living proof that sometimes the poodle really is the most dangerous animal on the qooty field.
To mark the milestone, Fleabane will be presented with a 100‑Game Diamanté‑Studded Collar after our Round 1 win against the Bears on Sunday.

- S34 OOBs Best Defender
- S35 and S37 Premierships (two more than the Warriors have managed in 22 seasons)
- S35 Deestroy Medal
