DaSawx said:His kicking isn't dreadful, perhaps slightly below average, there are worst kicks in the game.
Yeah, I like how he presents himself and wants to get into games, he'll be an excellent footballer by 2008.
Longy413 said:Can I just say this again -
It was never a choice between Bolton and Jacobs for Pick 6.
If we traded Bolton (of which Hawthorn's interest was luke warm at the most), we never would have got Pick 6 from the deal.
We'll give you an even swap, Charlie Gardiner for Kepler Bradley.Charlie can't kick, mark, handball or keep his feet.Nectarine Surprise said:Before the rest of the competition realises that he can't kick, can't handball and can't mark. Suspect they'll all know by year's end though.
If we're lucky we may still get a first round pick.
Hope I'm wrong but fear he will become Essendon's answer to Nick Holland. A has been that never was.

The Hulkster said:Thought you might find this interesting. This is renowned junior analyst Wiseby thoughts on Kepler before after he was drafted. Do these word ring true now.
EARLY PICK QUERIES (in draft order) – I wouldn’t be that surprised if they make it but I have concerns whereas many people would label them "definite":
BRADLEY, Kepler (6) [Ess] Gangly athletic giant. Despite reputation, is not quick. Huge heart and motor. Runs hard, far and relentlessly. Very poor natural balance. Iffy kick - Awkward, unbalanced kicking style. What AFL role suits?
Interesting stuff.
foj1 said:Sorry Longy- that is just not true. I know that Hawthorn would have accepted Bolton instead of Jacobs. Essendon chose to unload Jacobs because Bolton looked like he finally got it and Jacobs had been involved in quite a few misdeamenors that the club kept quiet. The trade I wish we completed was Bolton and Henneman for Everitt. Believe or not this trade was not far away from fruition. Go figure!
I heard the Kangaroos were willing to take Bolton for pick 9.Longy413 said:I've heard different.
I've heard the deal for Bolton did not involve pick 6. And the Dogs had more interest in Bolton than Hawthorn did.
The club also asked Jacobs to take a pay cut to stay, which in the end he wasn't prepared to do.
In the end it was about finding the best deal for EFC. Not putting Jacobs and Bolton up against each other.
Well for starters Kane is not a tall utility or awkward. His kicking does let him down though.foj1 said:What role suits? Tall utility. awkward, unbalanced kicking style =Kane Tenace
tall utility was in reference to Bradley I'd say.The Hulkster said:Well for starters Kane is not a tall utility or awkward. His kicking does let him down though.
I think if i remeber at the time i was hoping Geelong would take Kepler.

Merv Neagle said:That's incorrect.
Fletch was a good player from the moment he step foot on the MCG versus Carlton.Sure he may have had a period where he retreated in form a bit, but held his spot the whole way through.
