After all we have gone through. The past week. The past 8 years since finals. The past 27 years since a flag. The fans are all here in record numbers.

My brother... He talks to me about 1980 like it happened yesterday the passion still in his voice.

He played in the Auslab legends match 2 weeks ago and said it was the best day of his life (was married and has three kids). He was revved up by the legends on the tigers. They told him to represent the gurnsey and the heritage that comes with wearing it. Francis asked him to stay in the ruck...he said yes. What else would you say if Francis asked you to do something.

Today i get a message. A photo of a new tattoo on his back. The RFC logo. This guy has seen no success for the past 28 years, but he and my blood bleeds yellow and black. Thats why....

The Tigers will be back one day, thats why the media bag us, thats why other fans bag us. Its becasue of fear. Fear for what we will become. Fear of how big we will be when everything clicks.

I for one can't wait.

Richmond FC. I love you

Considering we have been in the finals twice since 1982 it’s simply staggering the passion and support this club has. Look at when Cuz came to Punt Road and now this. It’s literally been 24 hours every day about Richmond… Listen to all the non believers ringing talkback complaining that enough is enough…

They aint seen nothing yet.:D Imagine what it will be like when we get our act together. The sleeping giant will totally dominate

Collingwood is the only other club I can think of that would still even be around if they'd gone through the last 3 decades of shit we have. Carlton...possibly, but not without their rich criminal sugar daddies from the big end of town.
Essendon..pfft...their "huge" (i.e. grossly exaggerated) fan base means shit when the vast majority of them are soft, passionless, fair-weather bandwagoners.

I don't make a habit of commenting on other clubs boards but that's utter tripe mate.

Essendon have seen some 5 years of being at the bottom of the ladder yet still have a huge support base and membership.

Two weeks ago Essendon sold out Docklands playing their youngest team since records started against last years Premiers. No chance of winning.

Fair weathered? That's a bit harsh really. Every team has a wagon of some sort. Essendon I'm sure as well. But be careful about how you word 'vast majority' there okay?

Remove the word 'feared' and you are pretty much on the money.

What does a non Richmond supporter have to fear about a Richmond supporter? That they will cheer louder?

I don't think other teams fans understand what it feels like to support the Tigs... sure every team has die hard fans... but I think to support the RFC you need to be a die hard.

The hurt comes with supporting the RFC.

The passion comes with supporting the RFC.

One day... One day soon... The Tiger Tribe will rise as one, and the tidal wave of emotion will be felt the world over.

I recall the night of the Qualifying Final in 1995 against the Kangas when the banner tore away revealing "WE'RE BACK"... the roar was deafening.

I look forward to that time, that emotion, that YELLOW & BLACK!

But not the result:( But the next week againsed the Bommers was simply awesome. To this day i have never experienced a half of footy like that. I bawled my eyes out singing the song (a dozen times:D) the noise and roar on "yellow and Black" was something to behold. And Scotty Turner and Knighter:thumbsu: say no more;)

lol 5 years down towards the bottom? we'll arent we deprived?
since 1982 you have won 4 premierships, 3 runners-up, 4 minor premierships, finals 3 quarters of the time if not more! a couple of brownlow medallists and only the ONE coach! Knights only took over last year and already you essendon fans have something to grin about!

during that times weve had 4 wooden spoons, ninth upteen bloody times and be told big things are coming next year only to fail miserably again! had about 8-10 coaches ( i've even lost count!) and the one that we thought would take us places (northey) left us! have gone through a save our skins campaign. one crisis situation after another year after bloody year... and now this with the players allegedly wanting wallace out! EVEN ST. KILDA AND FITZROY HAVE PLAYED BETTER THAN US DURING THIS TIME! :( have i missed anything guys???

and yet were still here...

The great one, Weaver, made a post a couple of years ago and the general gist of it went something like this (with my own flowery bits in between):

Essendon supporters have been given an armchair ride. They have been taken to the top of the mountain the easy way, by helicopter and have been whisked away again in comfort.
The current batch of Richmond supporters haven't been the top of the mountain yet. But when we do, it will be done the hard way, by trekking all the way to the top with a heavy backpack on our shoulders. When we get to the top, we will have time to look around and enjoy the view. And through our eyes the view will be more spectacular than through anyone else's.

thats right tugg, we're like sherpas trekking thru the himalayas, right now the summit doesn't appear in sight, but we know where we're going and when one of us stumbles there's an outstretched hand or a swift kick up the ass, whatever comes first and we continue marching shoulder to shoulder...we'll get there:thumbsu:

Remember that well.

Then the disappointment of losing, fronting up to get another ticket for the Bombers game in a sad mood only to watch one of the best games of all time the week later.

That's the true sign of a supporter.

Essendon,Hawthorn have alot of bandwaggoners.

Even Carlton.

We have 36 plus thousand members with NOTHING TO HANG ON.
