Loving the dickhead Richmond drongos laughing at the OP. Morons.

And what did you expect? Dreaming up utopian situations is to be kept to oneself, not post it on BF in desperate hope that it happens.

Nah mate, I have no sympathy, you've brought this on yourself.

I had a dream last night we were playing Richmond in a final and quaynor snapped a goal to give us a commanding lead. The game was either played at the mcg Etihad or Vic park...

It was an attempt at a bit of fun mate. I don’t usually visit other boards so didn’t expect so many visitors. Sorry if I’ve caused any angst.

You're funny Jmac, you haven't caused angst. I just find it amusing you get all defensive against oppo posters after posting such a thread..................

Let em have their fun and don't get sucked in, after all it says something that tiggy fans are compelled to search the Pies board for whatever they're looking for.

I suspect you gave em unexpected ammo.

Live and learn bruh.

That's a very interesting response, and thanks for making it a polite one!! I don't live in Victoria, never have, and despite having been a Collingwood supporter for more than 50 years I don't have the anti-Carlton, Essendon and Richmond attitude that most people around here will have!

I'm not your typical Collingwood supporter, or at least I don't think I am! Most of us here are pretty reasonable, and I don't know why you think it's okay to be rude to me/us (referring to that last sentence)!!

I grew up(many decades ago) Daicos and for whatever reason as magically happens in Melbourne, I chose to support the then rising Tigers because as a 6 month old during the 1967 season I could see Hafey had us on a track that met with my approval. I was immediately and fairly rewarded with 4 flags in the next 8 Septembers. 😂

Anyway, some few years later I realised just about all of my peers and just about everyone else before us for generations in Melbourne had been through some sort of similar awakening, except mostly we had come up with different teams to support. Needless to say, a lot had elected for a lifetime of near miss misery, and signified this by walking around our schoolyard in their Collingwood attire.

There was always something about Collingwood compared to all the other clubs, they were so easy to hate. And it was expected of any opposition club supporter to do so. But of a Richmond supporter it was more than a loose expectation, it was a cast iron obligation. Jack Dyer told us he refused to watch black and white TV he hated Collingwood so much. That seemed to me to be a perfectly reasonable position to take, so I did the right thing and adopted it.

In reality, your club has been quite dominant, both on field and off. The only thing stopping you running away with the lead in the main measure of performance in the competition, premierships, we all know deep down is a mistimed siren here and an errant boundary decision there or maybe a stroke of Barassi genius or and Larry Mize chip in to win the Masters style last minute goal. And leads! It seems no Collingwood lead is safe in any final, but especially in a Grand Final.

To a Collingwood supporter, you must be a club who never quite asserts its dominance the way it should. To a Richmond supporter, you never quite seem to stay where you belong near the bottom of the ladder for long enough so that we can properly laugh at you. We are probably the opposite, we do both, inviting fear, disdain and hilarity from our opponents in alternating epochs.

It is all just part of the fun of supporting a team. As you have revealed you have never lived in Victoria this probably explains your lack of any real vitriol towards the other big clubs in Melbourne. You are a rarity, certainly in these parts, a well balanced and thoughtful Collingwood supporter. But then again, not too many of us are even handed about the whole thing down here no matter who we support. It is why foreigners watch on in awe when you take them to a big game at the MCG and they hear the huge roar when a great goal is kicked in a tight situation, or the sudden eruption of umpire abuse when he/she is perceived to adjudicate unfairly against one team.

And it is why I will forever tell people of my grateful shock the time I visited the MCG and was forced to park in neighbouring Collingwood and walk to the ground. After the game I speculatively returned to the position I had parked my car to find to my amazement it was still there! With all the wheels on it. 😂

Don’t take it too seriously, it is all part of the theatre. 😉
