That last quarter was a disgrace.....

Should have really pressed on, but we couldn't finish. Oh well we still won, so who really gives a flying fk!

yeah, freo scored most of their goals at the city end. That was the scoring end and it was pretty windy especially at the punt rd end.

Would I be right in saying most of those last six behinds (from 14 10 to 14 16 !!) went off to the right? Might have been something of a crosswind.

All six were inside 50 and all six were within the 21 metre span from point post to point post. God that was frustrating. Luckily we had the thing sewn-up, so we could afford a chuckle ...

They went on both sides from what I noticed, either the wind took it or they over corrected.
Freo kicked 1.4 in the 1st to that end, but didn't get many scoring shots at that end for the rest of the game
Actually they didn't get many scoring shots from both ends, for most of the game Richo had kicked more than Freo

The inability to bury teams has been a chronic problem.

But after the last couple of years, I'll take an 8 goal win any way it comes.

A good win.The most creditable win of the 3.
Good sign we steadied in the 2nd[late] then pounced in the 3rd.
The 4th was an anti climax however apart from our bad kicking we still did the positive things.

I'm not too fussed by the wasted opportunities in the last quarter. If you're going to fritter away so many chances during a quarter, at least do it when you've already got the match is won and the opposition isn't good enough to kick a rash of goals to really cut into the winning margin.

I was more disappointed with the first half of the second quarter where we had plenty of forward 50 entries for not only no goals but the forwards couldn't even retain the ball in the area and Fremantle took it out with ease.

That's a 10 minutes we won't be able to get away with next week.

It's true. I totalled them up.

1 in the 1st by freo, 2 in the second by rich, 1 in the last by rich. Definately a strong breeze down there.

I was sitting at ground level not too far from the Punt Road end goals and there was definitely a swirly breeze there for most of the day.

The right pocket at the Punt Road end was particularly tough to kick goals from, I was right behind several set shots from that pocket and none of them got close, let alone goaled.

Yeh, In the 3rd quarter when we were up by 6 or 7 goals I thought it was going to be a 80+ belting.

Had another look at the opening 10 mins of the second quarter tonight and the main reason why Richmond got nothing from their forward forays was a combination of poor disposal and that the forward line was top heavy so that the Freo defence were able to run away from Simmonds, Richo and the others.

The likes of Krakouer weren't there to take the crumbs because they were often kicking the ball to the contests. Something seemed to go awry with the forward structure in that quarter which was successfully rectified in the third quarter.
