except the first wasn’t really first so it’s only 1. If you follow me

Yes and no. Yes due to Quaynor points etc but also no in terms of being able to conjure a different deal that could of left our 2019 1st rounder in tact.

It was a "lazy" deal at best which they thought sheep would buy up the : "Quaynor gonna cost us so really it only cost" line.

Really we spent 2 firsts to procure a 29 yo midfielder (in a stacked midfield of which his type wasn't a need) who is struggling to process the loss of his father.

That Quaynor first should of been enough and at worst to help BrisVegas save face we could of came to the table with a 2nd in 2019. Outside that the Quaynor first could of been used as trade bait else where.

I think Dayne Beams can still play some great footy but imo it was a hefty price for the ass end of someones career.

Here you want an example of a trade that maximises our pick in 2018 with 2019 pick would of usurped this for a likely top 2 pick in 2019:

With live trading in effect for the first time, Carlton shipped next year’s first-round pick to Adelaide, who gave up pick No. 19 on Thursday night and their own first-round pick next year.

Imo whether we had or not had Dayne this year would make little difference in our standing.

Why don’t you tell me more Mr.Know it all?
Well I'll take a stab at it sunshine.

When a team is on a roll and threatening to take the competition by storm for a number of years as we are threatening to do the players are nearly always happy to play for less to keep the good times rolling.

I know he almost stuffed us up by missing before Rampe gave away the 50, but gee Mayne was good at the end of the game. His experience really came to the fold.

Just dragging the ball in without giving away HTB, taking his time on the set shot despite being on the line, etc. I'm a huge fan of the man. Never thought I'd say that.
That turn towards the boundary into the tackler to absorb the clock was just smart football - he is a neat, clever player who is hard as nails - he has totally won me over. Seems like a great bloke to boot.

Lol. You might have the wrong post.

What has happened to rampe?

Was one of the best one of one defenders in the comp last year

Looks like an absolute shambles this year

Covering the absence of McVeigh, Grundy and Smith at the moment. Going okay for mine.

Thank God for that.

The sooner we provide a 4 quarter performance the better it'll be for my nerves.

As for Wells he wasn't on crutches or have ice on his knee and was walking pretty freely so hopefully not as bad as first thought.

Fingers crossed for Wells, as he was sensational in the first half. Only thing for Wellsy, is that he is 34, has a horrendous injury record, so even if its not a serious knee injury, it could still mean a couple of months, before he is back even fully training.

Phew, is all I can say.

Sydney probably deserved to win that for most of the game. They kicked straight. We butchered the ball in front of goal.

But i'll take the points.

Also, Roughy was SO good!

Hopefully its just bone bruising. Gee he was good before that.

Totally agree. Wells and Dunne to be delisted for the mid season draft. Wills and Madgen at EOY. Sier better play next week or we'll lose him.

Two quality people like Dunn and Wells, you just dont throw on the scrap heap. Dunn is already on the LTI list, and if Wells, god forbid, has a season ending knee injury, you give him the respect of retirement.

Great win in the end.All these injuries are starting to take their toll though. The players looked absolutely stuffed in the last quarter.I don’t know how we won in the end.Shame about Wells,I hope it isn’t too serious. He didn’t look too devastated after the game,so hopefully it isn’t all over for him just yet.

Fair few injuries at the moment, so it’s an ok win. Their goal kicking made the game closer than it probably should’ve been.

Not the most convincing form from us, playing bottom 6-8 teams and only sneaking away with wins.

Moore won a Brownlow playing a similar game to that of Grundy, Moore a little more athletic.

Moore had blonde hair and ankle straps....flashy! Grundy is a battering ram, a gladiator, a one man clearance machine. He'd take Peter Moore after a few contests. Moore was great....but this bloke's something completely different.
