Lake, Mitch, Goo, Burger, Hodge, Sewell, Hale & Gibbo.
Ossie will retire.
Here is a team without any of them.
(we are in great shape).
Suckers Shoe Duryea
WhiteX Stratts Birch
Smith Lewis Hill
Ando Buddy Bruest
Rioli Rough Gunston
Bailey Shiels Pup
Grimmers Savage Hallahan Simpkin
Spanger can come in if Buddy goes to GWS.
We are overloaded with forwards - will probably need another key defender. And a genuine ruckman.

Sewell has another 2 years on his contract so he won't be going anywhere. Guerra will either retire, off his own bat or get told to, we have Dureya and Suckling waiting in the wings for a back 6 spot. Sewell hopefully will have a massive month but for our future hopefully your Hallahans of the world can go past him in 2014 and force his way into the 22. Then its about spreading the others, so Lake goes perhaps 1 or 2 before Gibbo. Burgoyne after next season, Mitchell after 2015 and Hodge after 2016. Our last 4 years have been exceptional at the draft and trade table and if the club can continue that for tthe next 3 years they will be in a very nice position.

Ben Stratton is the best player of the no one knows who they are club. I'm amazed at how many people either don't know who he is or just think meh his ok. I thought he should of been in the AA 40 ahead of Gibbo personally.
Finally, someone who agrees with me. Criminally underrated is Stratts. Deadset gun defender. Close to my favourite Hawks player.

The greatest team of all!

Mitch, Goo, Burger, Hodge, Sewell, Gibbo were 6 of our top 7 disposal winners last night.

These boys are still very handy to have but I would like to see more succession planning for future full time midfielders next year, particularly against weak opponents because its going to hurt when some of our older guys start retiring.

These guys might be over 30 ... But, all of them are either gun OR legendary players
It would be fair to say, most of them are STILL playing career best footy??

Goo was sensational tonight. I hope he doesn't give it away yet.
At worst he'd be handy depth ala Ossie. At best he'd be a solid 22 contributor, capable of playing finals and teaching Duryea some more tricks.

And while we're at it, this is the perfect scenario for Hallahan to come into the 2014 side.

Based on the guy (& maybe Woody too) ticking the required boxes I'd tell him that he's playing the first 6 games. Then stagger the start of a Sewell/Burgoyne - probably Sewell. Give our older legs programs that give them the best chance of peaking at the right time; be that peaking early to carry us through the season, or peaking late to propel us into the finals.

Kinda what we've done with Duryea/Goo this year, which I'd be interested to hear someone describe as anything but a ridiculous & unimaginable success - for both players.
