after the Port game I had a look at the fixture and thought we could ultimately win 4 or more games and that's notwithstanding fixtures like next week where we are not without a sniff...with clubs like adelaide and others soon to put the cue in the rack and us going forward at the same time...I can see us finishing ahead of a team or two...so hows the No 10 or so draft pick look:confused:

Look I think based on WC and Adelaides performances we probably won't finish last either.

Clearly if WC and Adelaide had winning on their minds the coaches would have been sacked based on the poor performance of their lists.

I agree with others we had a shocker of a draw early but , due to our lower position last year, the AFL have given us an easier draw as always to make the comp appear more even than it is.

I anticipate the better developed lists of Adelaide and WC to beat us for the spoon. Whether they are tanking is open to debate I guess!

i can tell the whole playing list you do not have to not bottom out to prove anything.

I know the players can play. I hard a closer look at Griffiths today. I think this guy is a real prospect regarding physically what he brings to the table regarding his skills

Argggh, fug it I'll say it.
Bottom doesn't bother me. In fact I welcome it.
I am comfortable with where we are headed. But as low a finish as possible gives this talented group one extra gun to move forward.
I'll just bend over now...

I have had a look at your draw the games against us (Adelaide) and Port are definitely winnable, the Swans, Freo (still suspect in Melbourne) and North IMO are winnable as well.

I can Richmond winning at least 4 games the percentage though will be the killer, I do think Richmond will finish bottom, but it is looking far better than it did a month ago for the club.

Glad to see mate.
FInishing 16 won't confirm anything to me. It doesn't mean defeat. In fact it gives us the best chance to move forward with what I consider to be a great young list.
If the cards say we finsih 16th then so be it.
I won't care in the slightest. As I said, I'll welcome it.
Now I will just spread some KY on my arse cheeks. Bring it on...

Good :thumbsu:

Stuff this wooden spoon crap.

New era, winning culture, success breeds success, all that stuff.

Our goal should be to win 5 and show our kids the first step is NOT to rely on a priority. Smart recuiting, hard work on the track and game day is so much more important.

Boggles the mind how a couple of wins against shithouse opposition makes people contract verbal diarrhea. We have a long way to go and adding the star youth left over from the gold coast is a priority.

Will be interesting. I think the home ground advantage should be good for an extra couple of wins for both West Coast and Adelaide, especially Adelaide.

I'd expect the Crows to beat both Melbourne and the Dons at AAMI, and maybe sneak another (possibly the Showdown).

Plus West Coast nearly knocked over Geelong last week. Eagles should win another 3-4.

We could see this years wooden spooner sitting on 5 or 6 wins!

I dont think so tugg, when Benny speaks of bold plans 3-0-75 and was roundly ridiculed by the football world, his claims post 2010 will look a whole lot more plausible if JR8 finishes at the pointy end of coleman calcs and the side wins 4-6 games whilst playing the youngest team we've fielded since the 60's as compared to winning two games with a % of 50:eek:

That is precisely the opposite of what we need. Powerhouse tiger arrogance is the reason the club was a pathetic rabble for over 2 decades.

4 wins. 16th.
Won't bother me in the slightest Bo.
It will be a 16 with a bullet. As opposed to some of the 9ths we have had with a passport to Iraq.

We need the spoon. The Wallace years should have taught us about racking up a few cheap wins in the second half of the season.

Nothing to do with recent wins wins over so called shit opposition. Havnt you been following the progress over the last 6 weeks?

Our graph has been rising every week in an impressive way. Yes we do have a "long way to go" but we are no basket case and are better than so many doomsayers are telling us.

I for one cant wait for the second half of the year to see how we stack up againsed some mid-tier opposition.

Yeah I have and we are a long way off the pace. We are good at winning the contested football, but we seriously lack the run and spread of the tops sides. We still lack skill, smarts and speed all over the ground. West Coast are slow and arguably worse at kicking the football than we are. They are our main worry regarding pick 4.

God.

What a load of rubbish. That's exactly why this club has been in the shit for the last 30 years. People in high up places make stupid decisions like this. Make no mistake, we still have one of the worst lists in the AFL, we need pick 4 and the extra 2nd round P.P. We should've "tanked" (early surgery, experimenting) in 2008/2009, let's hope we have learnt from those massive mistakes.
