Our defence receives a major overhaul.
It's not strong enough for finals football.
Ashley McIntosh you were a champion but it's time to go, you're not cut out for it anymore.
Darren Glass, you've improved, but not enough, decision making is woeful and he can't kick which is not good enough, it's time to give other players a go.
Collica needs to come back in, and with all these talented big blokes on the side like Staker, McDougall, Lynch, Hansen, Johnson, Seaby, Gaspar etc, there's gotta be someone to develop so that next year we can be serious challengers and perhaps even later on this year.
We'll make the finals and maybe even sneak a spot in the four, but with a defence as weak as it is now, unfortuanetly i can't see us progressing past that, unless changes are made.
Opinions?

I think he needs to look at McIntosh and say, if your name was anyone elses you wouldn't be in our side on form and it's time for a change, we need to prepare for the future.
And with Glassy, he's given him plenty of opportunites, he's been at the club for 3 years, played almost 50 games, and despite showing improvement this year, hasn't done enough.
We have to develop others, so let's give them a chance, they'll get stale in the WAFL, maybe there is place for Glass in a back pocket or something, but let's try someone like Staker, Lynch, McDougall or Gaspar back first!

I think it's a lost cause. Best thing we can do, is stop wasting Wirrapunda down there, It's a tragedy that he's not further up the ground creating goals for us. Battlers like Munro and Jones should be put in defense instead since it can't get much worse...(and they just don't deserve to play up forward.

And bring back McKenna to coach. The rebound from our defence just doesn't exist anymore. No system, even less skill.

I want to see Collica back in too. I thought he was fit to play and was just playing WAFL to get some match fitbess back. Read would be handy dow back too! We need to look at trading for a good tall defender at the end of the season. I've had enough of Glass and Carrol after yesterday!

I think woosha is 1 year ahead of where he thought he would be. the backline is still built around two guys, and although they have been champions their star is fading and fresh blood is required. The problem that will occur is that there is no really good second option if a player comes out in the form that Brown showed yesterday to switch onto him. Another year and you will be very close but sorry not this season.

Wirra is a good player, but should not play in the full back line, because he has no concept of defence. Play him half back and forward, where his attacking skills are useful.

Woosha has to make the decision, are we a premiership chance this year, or a year or two down the track?. If this year, he really has to go with what he's got. If he looks further down the track, he may go for a cut and blood tactic. Cut out players who aren't going to be productive after this year and replace them immediately with youngsters who will be able to get 10 -12 games under their belt, in readiness for next year. Sometimes you have to be cruel to be kind.

The jury is still out on whether Bluey is a good coach.

Woosha's way has been all about match-ups.

Yesterday the match committee banked on McIntosh beating Harrison, Banners beating Brown and Green beating Johnson.

On paper you'd think we'd at least come out even, but we all know that didn't pan out that way.

Milli was smashed by a journeyman hack who probably should've ended up with 5 goals. There was a bit of switching going on between him and Glass but it didn't really matter.

Banners was far too loose on Brown and as a result Brown was everywhere in the forward line. Banners got a bit of the ball and was steady when his man wasn't leading him to the ball (which occurred too often) and that is no use if the bloke you're on can slot them like Brown. The speed of the ball coming in from the midfield exposed Banners badly too. The amount of times the ball went from one end of the field to the other was a source of much yelling from the crowd around me (shrieking woman behind me "get him!", "kick it!", "tackle him")

I thought Green was ok on Johnson. Made some duffer mistakes but Johnson did not dominate. Green is good in the air and when he finds some open space but when the heat is on in close inside 50 he can lose his head a bit which goes against him.

I think a Wooden or Collica could've been very handy today. But for FB, who knows?:(

I suppose the games Glass played on Tarrant and Richardson, less than a month ago don't count anymore do they?

Lets set the record straight. Glass held Tarrant to one goal, and IMO if he didn't win, broke even, and then the following week v Richardson, he won (given two of the four occured straight after he was benched).

I think some people have clearly raised the bar far too high, quality backmen don't just appear, they take time to develop.

Hay debuted in 97, was all-australian in '01 season.
Gaspar 94, AA in '00.
Leppitsch 93, AA in '99.
Milli 91, AA in 98.

I'm not saying he will be an AA, but given this is his fourth season, his played about 44 games, it's far too early to write him off completely, especially given the two games a few weeks ago, lets just give him a solid run in the firsts, which he never has had.

off his back people.

What to do with Jakovich and McIntosh is a concern.

What to do with Banfield and Wirrpunda is also a concern.

Why Collica, Read and Wooden arent in the side is another concern.

Jako and Milli seem to only be able to play if matchup suit them. Although Jakovich clearly has some life left in him up forward and played really well at CHF yesterday. But is he getting in the way of the development of Gaspar or McDougall?

Banfield isnt a defender. Why Worsfold thinks he is is beyond me? Wirrpunda is also too loose to be played so deep in defence. Off half back he is brilliant and is the best rebounding, line breaking, game tearer aparter in the business. But then you wonder if he is been wasted down back. With his skills he could be the best midfielder in the competition.

Collica must come into the side! Wooden also would be a perfect fit for a back pocket.

Glad im not the coach.
