Weagles must be really desperate now, news just in is that they are holding a membership telethon on "basil's poor excuse of a footy show", black friday, 13th april.
What is worse, it appears that this pathetic show is going to be screened at night, I hope it is only a one off, this is definitely a show that is not fit for a prime time TV slot.

Sandie, i heard for the first time in years a whole heap of members havent taken up renewal of there membership, mustnt have much faith in Kenny and his boys. Seriously though it must be concerning for WCE management that after years of success the first sign of rebuilding and members drop off like flys. Still i guess thats not unusual for a number of clubs

i know a bloke at the office here who was a corporate member (lets say this guy probably earns about $700 000 a year) and according to him the eagles membership dept called up asking him to pay substantially more money for his member ticket than he had in previous years, so he just dumped it. Apparently they were quite rude and forceful and he said he just didnt like the way he was treated at all, so he gave it the flick out of protest. Maybe this style of membership "promotion" has something to do with it ????

Well he must be a bandwagoner then and he also sounds like the supposed stereotypical WC supporter. Good riddance I say

WC still has heaps of supporters they just dont take out memberships. For example in my family my dad has a membership and I will be getting one when I have the money. I dont understand why people with money who support the eagles dont get memberships

Wait a minute, we have 37,000 members. More than any shit vic team, or most interstate teams for that matter.

Where did you get those figures from D4E, last week they only had 32,000.

From that 2001 season preview magazine I got in the Herald Sun on saturday. (FREE!!!!

Thats their figures, they also listed last years figures which were about 38,000. So the eagles aren't that far behind.

If the figures are wrong than don't hold me responsible, i only posted what i heard and read.

Yep, pathetic isn't it? But it isn't 'news just in', it's actually been planned for a while, and is a combined Eagles and Dockers telethon.

As I'm sure many of you know, my gripe with the Eagles heirachy is the way they treat their members, and that story of Arch's is no surprise as far as Im concerned.

Look, Basils is just a bit of fun. Definately not premier quality TV, but it's a chance for Eagles and Dockers fans to see interviews with their players and the fun segments that usually only involve Melb based players on national shows. Do you know (for me anyway) what a big deal it is for an Eagle to be on the footy show? Once or twice a year tops...

Bubba- you only just heard??? Its true that heaps of our members have left - I just hope the admin realise the right reasons behind it and start to finally address the problem properly.

Their loss and your gain eagleskickass! The club supporters who have dropped out are those that went along because it was a good thing to pass a Sunday afternoon, they weren't passionate about the game or the club - so let them leave, we don't want them. Only sad thing is, they will jump straight back on the ship when one of the WA footy teams makes the Top 8.
