Re: Weagles Ugly Culture Crisis. Have we been told everything or is it the “Tip of a Iceberg”

A Weagles Crisis would not be an understatement at the moment. A relentless litany of bizarre behaviour, drug and alcohol problems, and violence directed toward the public and other team-mates, culminating in Judd’s desire to continue his career in Victoria, and an “interesting” early damage control statement from one of the Weagles administrators last week. So the question is, has all been revealed, or is this only the tip of an ugly Weagles culture iceberg. Last weeks comments from the administrators were very suspicious, and I have a feeling that a lot more will be revealed over the next few weeks. :)
Very insightful thoughts Parrot. Wise beyond your years. :thumbsu:

Now it's the "Kerr tapes". Amazing. With every day that passes, more and more details of the ugly Weagles culture emerges. I guess it was the tip of the Iceberg. When will this crisis end? Judd still refuses to commit to the Weagles. Do we really think the Weagles franchise administrators only knew about these endemic problems a few weeks ago? Do we really believe that these problems are restricted to a few players, despite new names being brought up on a regular basis? I think the Weagles have been let off extremely lightly by the media. This is a monster scandle, and their coverup was all about protecting profits, rather than the well-being of their players. These last-minutes public displays of concern just don't cut it. Will be interesting to see how this implosion unfolds. :)

The Weagles cannot have a culture crisis, because they never had one in the first place. They are now showing their true colors. Soulless filth.
Although harsh, you have a point. The Weagles are the prototype "franchise club" i.e. little history, main focus on revenue, marketing campaigns, targeting of superbox market, merchandise, etc. The players are just considered employees in this franchise, and a way of making profit. There is no history or culture or character at Weaglelead. Just a cold, clinical business. As we have seen, the players wellfare, is not their concern, and they only went public as a carefully planned "damage control" media exercise. :)

Blah blah blah. In one form or another, the eagles are the envy of all AFL clubs. Im not trying to talk my club up, but you go on and on about how our main focus is to just make money. F*Ck sunny, the premiership was a 'cakewalk' wasnt it then. Think about it son. ;)

The players are just considered employees in this franchise, and a way of making profit.
The players sole purpose is to win games on field and conduct themselves in a meaningful way off it. When somebody employs ya, you have a job to do. Footballers play football. Marketers market the club. Simple errr?

I might cancel my Jimeon ticket tonight because that post is so funny. All i will say is this....
3 Premierships = some character.
3 Premierships = some history
3 Premierships = some culture (a winning and successful one if you hadnt figured it out).

Your a tool. :)

Well the latest news according to the media, is that there are 8 Weagle players with a drug problem. Kerr's taped discussions with a drug dealer are now on the public record. And I'll guess we'll find out about the other 6 over the next few weeks or months. The Tip of a Iceberg was really an understatement. What I'd like to know is which players who played in the GF were taking drugs, and what type, and how long the Weagles franchise administration knew about and covered up the problem - 2 to 5 years seems the general consensus. Why wasn't this problem addressed earlier. Their 2006 GF win has been permanently tarnished. A club in crisis. :)

That post is strange (or Strabnge). Perhaps you might try again because it doesn't make sense. :)
Why does parrot feel the need to critisice West Coast?
He does realise that he barracks for the worst team this millenium, and West Coast are probably the best team of this millenium.
Strange really

That better, it really is strange that a guy who barracks for the worst team by miles is constantly making cracks at the best team

I'm glad you've figured out how to spell a two-syllable word. Why does the iceberg need a capital though? Is it someone famous? Maybe it's the blues ruckman, it that would explain a lot, the blues big men certainly don't more very fast, and are lumbering masses of nothingness. Maybe we should rename Cain Ackland to Cain Iceburg?

I'd consider cheating your way to a premiership to be a pretty soulless act. Our boys have just shown their human side...

I wouldn't go that far - I don't think the Weagles "cheated" their way to the 2006 flag. But with the growing number of senior Weagles players admitting to taking hard-core drugs for quite a while, you have to ask yourself how many of the Weagles players on GF day were taking drugs, and whether any of the drugs they used were in the performance enhancing category. Remember the Weagles just scraped over the line in the dying minutes of that game, to pinch the flag. Will be interesting to see how the AFL responds as further information is released into the public domain. :)

Well more information has been revealed. Now a former Weagles player expresses concern, on a taped recording, that drugs he purchased might be stolen from his bag by other Weagles players. Amazing. When will this Weagleland crisis end? :)

haha. Why is every 5th reply to this thread a bump of yours parrot? Not getting enough bites eh. Here - ill give you what you desperately want:

FFS, SHUT UP. YOU KNOW NOTHING ABOUT WHAT IS GOING ON INSIDE OUR CLUB, AND IF YOU THINK CARLTON ARE A DRUG FREE CLUB THEN YOU ARE THE ONE WITH YOUR HEAD IN THE SAND YOU MORON!!!!

There ya go, happy?

By the way, how are Carlton supporters handling the frustrating underperformances of Bryce "Super Dud" Gibbs? :D:thumbsu::thumbsu:

Well, he have heard the confessions, plus the police tapes of your players talking with drug-dealers. I guess we know something about "what is going on inside your club". And we are getting more "information" every day. The Weagles franchise administrators and coaches have been continually modifiyng their story, as more information is leaked into the public domain, and they have had to adjust their damage-control strategy on an ongoing basis. I am not suprised at how deep this crisis has become, but what I am unclear about is just how much further it will deepen. JW said their were 7-8 players involved. We know about 3-4, so I guess at best we're only at the half way mark. :)

This is no crisis. It's standard preparation for us.

Who would you back to win the flag.

A group of hardened violent criminals?

Or a pack of nuns?
