This guy did say yesterday that Hinkley was going to GC so not sure how reliable he is. Doesn't seem like a knob like the tradewhisperer though, especially since he's bagged Cornes and Rucci.

So in effect we lose Lever for 10 & 18 and Cameron for 27 & 41.

Thoughts?

He also said Crows were going cold on Gibbs as Carlton still want 2 firsts.
How do both Adelaide and Brisbane gain Pick 27.

Fraud.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I think Gibbs worth may end up being dictated by how well we do in 2017. Win the flag and a first rounder may and should be enough because the Blues know they need to rebuild their list.

If we lose this week or next week, the Blues have all the leverage in asking for two 1sts.

Not sure how both us & Brisbane end up with 27? Melbourne will not be giving up 3 draft picks for Lever. I'd say thats a great deal for us but unlikely. Maybe take the 45 out

Assuming Pick 27 (listed twice) is coming to us and not Brissie, this trade would value Lever at pick 2/3 and Cameron at pick 15/16 using the draft points system. That's a win for both really, especially when compared to similar trades in recent years.

The Gibbs portion (for picks 17 + 27) would value him at pick 6, which is overs. Picks 17 + 35 would be better, which values Gibbs at Pick 8 (prob still overs but takes into account the fact that he has 2 years left on his contract).

"Tom" just called AA, sounded about 20 years old and said Doedee is number 1 in the SANFL for intercepts, marks in D50, rebound 50s, spoils etc. and is a better one on one defender than Lever so if we can get 2 firsts for Jake its a win - win and Doedee comes straight in.

Love your work Tommy Doedee :D

The points might say that but 10 and 27 is unders for Lever. Also pick 18 and a 4 pick upgrade in the 40's does not equal pick 15 on points.

Ignore the "points value" of picks, that's only relevant for FS and academy picks, not for trading as it doesn't take into account the quality of the draft or a clubs list profile.

For mine, the trade probably probably should read closer to:
Adelaide gain: 10 + 18 + 27 + 41
Adelaide lose: Lever + Cameron + 53

Melbourne gain: Lever
Melbourne lose: 10 + 27 + 45

Brisbane gain: Cameron + 45 + 53
Brisbane lose: 18 + 41

Would keep Brisbane a little happier, we could even throw in 72 for them depending on their needs at the draft.

2 questions

1. How old is that article, why no link?
2. Does Hamish post here, pumping up his alleged draft knowledge?

exactly :p
FYI
Yesterday's Herald Sun.....

It's a subscriber only article and against BF Rules now to C & P whole articles.

I posted excerpts in the "Matt Crouch Has Arrived thread" yesterday. Page 25

So what then? Threaten PSD? We all know it won't happen. Our hands are tied. We'll get what we can which we all know will be not enough for a player of Lever's quality and upside.
Why is it our hands are always tied? This shits me to tears. I'm so pissed off we're losing him, get him to help us win the flag and then throw him in the PSD. I don't want to settle for pick 1000 and some useless list clogger/s we've been forced to to add to the payroll. **** that! Sick of it.

Yes yes I know - nose, spite, face. This time I don't care. Too sick of developing good players only to see them leave because some shitcan team offers them unmatchable $$.

Force him to leave at his own peril and see what useless basket case team has the biggest war chest.

I wouldn't even do Watts and Salem for Lever straight up.
I would most likely, Watts has top end talent and a fresh start away from the ridiculous expectation of the Dees supporters and Vic Media that goes with being a No.1 pick could do wonders. For mine it's all between the ears with Jack.

Considering our current game, what role would see Watts playing?

He might be worth getting, but he doesn't cover the value of Lever (in terms of trade value). Salem is stake knives.
