Hi Adelaide, what's your thoughts on pick 10 and Watts for Lever? I could see Watts fitting in pretty well at the Crows and playing some good footy.

Expecting to get shot down but putting it out there, Cheers.

I could see it heading that way, but I think you'd need to throw in your second as well. Watts would likely only be a depth player, or at most one of 3-4 players fighting for 3rd tall defender role, as such wouldnt hold a heap of value for us.

Would our first and second rounder without Watts get the deal done? If the deal is our first and second round pick and Watts I think we'd be expecting something back in return. Maybe Gallucci, if you're offering..

Yeah not happening. I think you need to realize that's Watts value has plummeted. He has talent, but you're currently trying to sell a player who's not clearly in your best 22 and it's not as though he's a spring chicken either. The fact that you guys burned a #1 pick on him no longer holds any relevance. It's like Port trying to sell Hamish Hartlett last year.

Lever is 21 year old tall defender who's one of the best intercept players in the game with strong leadership qualities. You're buying 10-12 year player who projects as and is already bordering on elite for his role. His value is easily 2x firsts, a first and a second isn't enough, nor is a first and a fringe player, especially when that 1st is double digits.

We don't need anymore steak knives players on 300k plus to play reserves.
It'll **** with our salary cap, we just can't afford to keep doing this.
Exactly right, we either take draft picks or best 22 players. There is absolutely no reason for us to waste salary cap space on older depth players such as Watts who might not even be in our best 22.

We now have a new leader in the worst trade suggestion competition.

I don't think I've ever seen a fan base overrate their own list more than these Melbourne fans.

As the most prolific Melbourne poster on this thread I assume you're referring to me.

What have I specifically said with regards to our list that you find implausible ?

Anyone see the Jon Ralph proposed Lever and Gibbs trade? It's horrible.

http://www.dailytelegraph.com.au/sp...af3300af42e2e7557aedd4267f3a91d9?from=htc_rss

Adelaide
Lose Lever
Gain Gibbs and Pick 27

Melbourne
Lose Pick 10 and 27
Gain Lever

Carlton
Lose Gibbs
Gain Pick 10

He then goes on to talk about how Carlton getting only pick 10 for a 28yo Gibbs is unders (completely ignoring the fact that Gibbs will actually be 29 by the start of next season), but that Carlton can get Rockliff as a FA to replace Gibbs.

The article includes this gem, referring to Carlton:

"They knew getting rid of Gibbs for unders would have made them feel cheap and left a gaping midfield hole that turned 2017 into an on-field disaster."

Because apparently finishing 16th, ahead of only Brisbane and GCS can be considered a resounding success. o_O

The quote of the article is probably this though:

"And Adelaide will whinge and moan about not getting fair odds for Lever, who they value as two first-round picks.

But the Crows made Geelong pay picks 9, 28 and Dean Gore for Patrick Dangerfield.

So they can hardly sniff at getting Gibbs and 27 for Lever."

Well I guess getting screwed over once at the trade table means the Crows will be ok with it happening again. :drunk:

I would most likely, Watts has top end talent and a fresh start away from the ridiculous expectation of the Dees supporters and Vic Media that goes with being a No.1 pick could do wonders. For mine it's all between the ears with Jack.
Unfortunately I've heard that between the ears is an arrogant self entitled brat... Probably unfixable
