By the way who have we drafted with those Geelong picks?

We got Milera for pick 9 (which became pick 11 after Callum Mills and Jacob Hopper were taken as academy picks), and traded pick 28 + Sam Kerridge to get Menzel. Not exactly a bumper crop, even with the powerhouse addition of Dean Gore.

Mind you, it did give us the flexibility to use pick 32 on Seedsman which has probably paid off so far.

Unfortunately I've heard that between the ears is an arrogant self entitled brat... Probably unfixable

Strange you say that given at the draft he was touted as being of very high character by all recruiters I heard speaking about him. IMO it's been mostly down to the weight of public expectation been put on him by football followers and the rabid Victorian media after being Pick 1. If he'd been taken pick 30 we've have hardly heard a whimper.

You've clearly heard wrong too, it refers to it being a "mental" thing. i.e. "in the mind", "in the brain".

You implied Lever would want to go to Melbourne because you've got an exciting list.
And you consider that a gross exaggeration ?

Plenty of non-Melbourne supporters recognise the talent emerging on the Dees list. I hardly think I'm breaking new ground with the suggestion.

I think this is said every year, people are just being nice to you and keeping your hopes up because you are a historical club.

He wants your money, not your exciting list. If he really cared about the list he wouldn't leave, you'd imagine.

If its not pick 10 and Melbourne's 2018 first round, I reckon it needs to be Pick 10 and Gibbs getting to Adelaide for Lever.

I don't care how Melbourne satisfy Carlton. If its a player or pick 27 and something else.
Not ever going to happen. I think Ralph's suggested trade is about right to be honest but Carlton won't do it and we might not.

When is the talent going to deliver is the real question.

Now I'm not going out on a limb saying that the Dees have consistently had better draft picks than the Crows. If you add our draft penalties and lost picks from losing Tippett the gap in draft picks becomes even bigger, yet somehow we have managed to be in the position we are today and your team is still struggling to get into the 8.

Something tells me there is something terribly wrong at the Dees given the talent you have....you've been in this position for a while.
Whilst your club has made progress has it been enough with the draft picks you've had and the talent picked?

Adelaide won't get what they deserve. It's unfortunate, but it's also reality.

My guess is picks 10 and 27 will get it done. Or something very similar. And I personally don't think it recognises Lever's value or development.

Lever is at least the equivalent of Hogan and I'd be expecting more than 10 & 27 for Hogan.
You guess wrong.

Essentially the same pick we drafted him with and a second round pick in a not so strong draft......I assume the Dees have offered Jake $350k based on your guess?

If Crows win the flag, can we send Lever to the PSD and screw him over if Melbourne dont offer us a fair trade? (admittedly we also get screwed but send a message)
I am entirely ok with cutting off our noses to spite our face in those circumstances.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Ironically we could send him to the draft and let Carlton get him for Gibbs, shit trade I know.

I do think the Lions and Suns may pass on him given his desire to return "home".

I'm ok with Jake leaving, I do really want him to stay but if it happens it happens.
What I do hope is, rather than picking the one club, he gives us some trading options so that we can get the best deal. One suitor hurts us 2-3 allows us to set a better market.

If I were the Lions or Suns, I would pick him up. At worst he signs a 1 year deal, it only costs you a psd pick, then next trade season you trade hime where he wan't to go and you collect a 1st and 2nd rounder for him and clean up.

Gee, you're going out on a limb suggesting things have been horribly wrong down at Melbourne. Was it the second or third failed rebuild that gave it away ?

But things have most definitely changed since Peter Jackson joined the club and Paul Roos was appointed in 2013.

If you're still an unbeliever that's fine. You're welcome to think what you like. Roos took over the statistically 5th worst team in VFL/AFL history and only 6 players from his first game remain on the list.

If Lever chooses Melbourne it will be for 2 reasons, the money and the list that's been rebuilt over the last 4 years.

He will want success. If Adelaide supporters want to suggest that he is completely money driven and has no other personal ambition then I'd suggest your bitterness is clouding your cognitive skills.

That's not to suggest he's right. Treloar went to Collingwood, but I find it hard to believe that people would think a professional sportsman has no interest in anything other than money.

But people vote for the Greens, so anything is possible.

He will end up at the club he wants to be at anyway via the PSD.

Mitch Cleary saying Crows now adamant Lever is on his bike....Nothing new there, most of us realised he was gone 10 weeks or so ago. Interesting though Dodoro has said Aaron Francis is untouchable Healy suggests a 3 way deal involving the "Package" to Essendon/Francis and the Crows/Port in some way involving Lever may be on the cards.
