its a good thought, how do the resident draft enthusiasts rate the pointy end of this draft as opposed to next years?

I know there's an SA kid people are raving about for next year but his name escapes me.
Jack Lukosius, Izak Rankine, Connor Rozee and Jackson Hately are all tipped to go in the 1st round.

if Lever and Cameron both leave could the latter and pick 6 get us in the ballpark for pick 1 from Brisbane?
Do we want pick 1?

I mean, lever and Cameron for pick 1 isn't cockles of the heart stuff.

I'd say no.

For both players, I'd want at a minimum 3 top 20 picks (1 between 6-10, 1 between 11-15 and 1 between 16-20)

That's 3 first choice players.

Disagree. One elite is better than three sort of good.

Would be pick 1 plus at least Melbourne's second round pick as well.

Our list is pretty full, we'll want to upgrade Greenwood and Keath - perfect time to add the best 18 year old in all the land IMO.

You don't know what players you're actually going to get at those picks.
Well, you should have some idea of how you project them.

What you do know is you have far greater access at 1 to elite. I.e. you get your pick of all the talent. Surely you back yourself to identify an elite there?

When you're talking about picks in the 20s, you're relying upon people to fall. That's variable.

If based purely on talent alone we'd most likely take Cam Rayner with Pick 1 who IMO would be a bigger "flight" risk than Lever..

I'd do whatever it takes to get Rankine in 2018.

If we trade out our 2017 first, Cameron and Lever and get back Gibbs and Rankine... I'd be absolutely stoked
