Just out of curiosity, how does one club accumulate this depth?

Could it be having 3 top 20 picks instead of 1 awesome pick.
None of the above, good list management and good recruiting staff

Yep as the probability is very similar that you will pick up a good soild player with pick 10 over pick 90.
Bock AA, Rutten AA, Cameron rookie, Laird rookie.........should I go on??

It's not all about numbers, it's more about talent identification.

Please do.

55 players were drafted inthe 2016 AFL rookie draft, times that by 10 years and 550 players are on and off a list and that's just the rookie draft. Add the national draft of about 1,000 players over ten years explains why the average lifespan of an AFL player is somewhere between 2 and 3 years.

If it's down to numbers please explain why we are playing in next week's Grand Final with zero top ten picks.......Good luck??

No......good list management and good recruiting.

And the probability of gaining a good player increases with the higher picks. More picks, more good players you can obtain.
