Charlie plus our second this year for Brisbanes 1st next year would be fair, and would get us Rankine or Lucosius which would keep our list strong for years.
Having said that I'd still prefer to keep Charlie
I don't know about that. We're effectively getting what is likely to end up being a top 4 draft pick for Cameron and a pick in the late 30s. I know Cameron just played a ripper but he's not worth that.

If it was on offer I'd take it every day of the week, particularly given the consistent rumours he wants to leave and his contract expiring next year.

Hell, I'd still be tempted to take the deal if you changed our second round pick into our first round pick.

If we aren't paid overs for Charlie this year then he will stay a crow it's that simple. A lot can happen in a year, wouldn't surprise me to see him sign a 3/4 year deal with us midway through 2018 if he doesn't leave this trade period.
If his price is less than someone who can win a final off his own boot, then we are not even breaking even.

Jake is paying $51 in the norm smith. Probably worth a dabble at those odds considering how intercepting defenders have gone in the past (Brian Lake, Luke Hodge, JJ, Andrew Mcleod (technically he played half of 1 of those games across the back flank).

At least that way if he leaves hopefully he leaves after winning me a flag and filling my pockets full of cash...

Ok, so were we to be successful Saturday (touch wood, fingers crossed...whatever else I have to do to give us good luck), do we think that there is any chance Lever might just turn around and change his mind and stay?? I mean, why leave a young premiership team with (I hope and pray daily) the potential to play in finals for the next few years at least for one that hasn't played in a final in years, let alone won a GF since the days when Lyndon Johnson was still US President, the Beatles toured Adelaide and Cassius Clay beat Sonny Liston??

As for Charlie - I think he will stay and not seek to be traded next year. If he doesn't, after Friday's effort surely (a year out from the end of his contract), he is worth their current pick 12??

Hihgly, highly unlikely that Lever changes his mind.

Unless he does a huge U-turn and decide to stay long, long term, I flippin' hope not ... want the 2018 pick his leving might bring us.

I wonder if Hogan goes to WC if Melbourne would get West Coast 1st rd this year and next.... Id then ask for Melb and WC 1st next year for Lever. Then Our first next year and Cameron for Brisbane's first Next year.

sets us up nicely for a Crack at all those SA kids

I like what you're trying to do here, but I feel like the secret about the 2018 draft is out. I dont see anyone trading future 1st's away this trade period unless they are bringing in whales, even then they will be as rare as hens teeth!

I haven't read this thread for a while but has anyone noticed this arvo that some Port flog has started a thread on the main board suggesting that we should drop Lever for the GF because he's likely to leave next year?
Have they nothing better to do now than jump on the one negative possibility that might happen for us this year? They are a loser club with loser supporters mentality. Not surprisingly neutral supporters are shooting him down in flames.
That loser club won't even make a GF in the next 10 years. BOOKMARK IT.

My care factor is effectively 0, however weren't a bunch of people on our own board suggesting that very same thing?

As I posted I don't read this thread much but I think you're right about some of our posters suggesting the same thing, equally as stupid but for a Port flog to open a thread on the main board about it just sounds like salty tears to me, pathetic.

How things are going right now, we would be a bloody stupid club if we were to drop lever for the GF, for the past few weeks and the next few weeks I've barely thought about this saga and won't really until after everything settles down either way. Then this thread will revive either way, if we win I'll still hope he gets a cold shoulder at celebrations is all.

I hope he wins the Norm Smith to push up the value.....

Id rather a legend of the club win the Norm Smith so he becomes part of crows folklore, rather than being remember with some degree of disdain.
I don't care who wins the Norm Smith so long as the Crows win the game. Let Dangerfield win it for his efforts in the half-time sprint for all I care.

I dislike putting mock trades together but reading a couple got my thoughts going.

Lever to Collingwood for Pick 6 and their second (36).
Cameron & Pick 6 to Brisbane for Pick 1.
Pick 1 and our second (35) to Carlton for Pick 3 & Gibbs.

We lose: Lever, Cameron
We gain: Pick 3, Gibbs, Pick 36.

Carlton gain: Pick 1, 35
Carlton lose: Gibbs, Pick 3.

Collingwood gain: Lever
Collingwood lose: Pick 6, 36.

Brisbane gain: Cameron, Pick 6.
Brisbane lose: Pick 1.

I feel dirty posting a mock trade. One and only!

Not enough. The pick we gain needs to be at worst, mid 20's.
