Weren’t there rumours earlier in the year that he was about to sign with us for 5 years. Then the big offers came and he started stalling. Our initial offer may have been low, it may even have been insulting, however if he was about to sign on and then got tempted by the big offers, then the insulting offer was hardly the catalyst for him to leave.

Difference is Kelly's old man isn't a dick.

The way Ned has raved about the club speaks volumes. Unlike most of us he knows how every club operates and he was glowing in his assessment. I do not think there is a culture issue. I think there is an issue of us developing bloody good players who get offered shit loads of coin.
He seems pretty good, just hear they’ll be looking for a fair bit more next time round.

Now that it out in the open,
I know one thing that is going to Happen,
Lever wants a role in the Media in order to get one he has to be seen as the good guy in this, Leaks which has started will become mainstream painting the Crows as the bad boys in this,
Such as the lowball, walking out of a meeting with Melbourne, Believe there is one in works on how the official treated him coming into play.
Within 2 weeks Lever will have done the right thing and the Crows would be the bad boys, setting up Lever for some media time next year.

The worse thing is a few of our supporters will believe this because the Crows true to their word will not leak to the media.

One Thing I do know the first offer to Lever was not a Lowball for a 3rd year and 3rd tall defender. But to a player and his father who expected the first offer in the range of 500K it was a Lowball offer.

Might not be popular point while we are all fired up

But >250k per year to move home , I can actually understand it

Unfortunately it's the new game

Until the talent pool at U18 level is more evenly spread between the states and not 60-70% Victorian then this will continue to happen

The ONLY saving grace is there are 10 Victorian teams so they all scrounging for the trade targets between themselves

Such an imperfect system , it's farked really
i don't know about this as it always appears from this ten at least one will rise every year with the motivation and sales pitch to have a crack at a top tier out of contract Crow.

I was going to suggest maybe we send over Jake K and keep Jake L, since apparently no-one can tell the difference.

But I think I would rather keep Jake K to be honest
If Pies are involved may work....but I wouldn't do that...Jake of the Kelly variety seems like a club first guy.

He wants to go to Melbourne to "lead them to the finals". Played like rubbish in the finals.

He also likes Melbourne because they're "young", play "exciting football to watch" and have "shown great interest in me". Sounds like the Adelaide Football Club.

"Hardest part was ringing my teammates and telling them". Didn't front up.

Well done Jack. Off ya go mate.
I haven't listened to his BS, are these seriously quotes of his?

Words cannot express my loathing for him.

At least when Danger left there was a legit desire to be back home to start a family and it was really a choice between Geelong and Adelaide

Lever on the other hand is purely about money, the fact that he will earn more money then Danger on his next contract is something that I can't get my head around that anclub would offer

Birdman was right in saying that no way is it right thing to do to our playing group to make him our highest paid plyer not just in our current list but probably in the clubs history

Thanks Jake for paying back the faith the club showed in you
