Onward and upward....find a chop out 3rd defender to slot in for Lever, see what the year 2 and 3 guys deliver, get Gibbs, tell Jenkins and Atkins to go get some tattoos and parlay the Lever collateral into a Brownlow medalist.

I must admit I don't understand the "We traded you Scott Thompson a decade ago and he was good, so you should accept unders now" stance from some Melbourne supporters.
It's because they can't find issue with us giving them Bernie Vince, now excuse me as I pick a fight with Eagles fans because they took Tyson Stenglein at the end of 04.

We gave Richmond a 1st round pick for Tambling about 5 years ago. They should have let us win the flag

But less spots to fill the Vic talent so no need to go outside....we have already lost three guns to three different clubs in Melbourne and there are already 2018 rumours of a 4th club for Sloane.
60-70% of drafted players from Vic so the risk will always be there until when and if other states catch up on providing talent to the pool

Even riskier to just draft home state kids if the talent pool is poor

The crows ( and Port ) need the SA talent pathway through the SANFL to lift its game and do its job

At least next year is promising

They’re obviously being paid on their flogness, Jake has danger slightly covered.
Danger had a respectable reason ......Lever is just big headed, was upset when left out of the side after a Hammy ......FFS , what right as a 21 yo does he have to comment on team selection? ......Lad has got too far ahead of himself

Give us academies and watch the talent come out. Nothing like a bit of self interest to get results.

think ive said before that i spoke a couple of times with jake early on when he got drafted and i could tell immediately this kid had so many similar personality attributes to Dangerflog. My gut feel was, this kid aint gonna be here very long. its not a vic metro thing, it a personality thing.
IMO what fooled us was the prediction of Lever as a future AFC captain ......the assumption that goes with Leadership is loyalty & a sense of team first ......we've been fooled

I saw him make the same comment about the final against the bulldogs in his first year when we left him out. That at the time he believe he should have played.

Yes remember that .....he had no position to make any comment .....were they his thoughts, or was he a mouth piece for family members?

why do port need it? they dont have any problems retaining required non-sa talent or trading in quslity playes

its nor an sa problem, its an afc problem..

I was sort of naively hoping he would stay.

It's depressing supporting the Crows.
I was absolutely hoping he would leave as hopefully the return will be of more value to us.

However, he is an absolute flog campaigner with the way he has managed this to be the biggest, divisive tool possible during a premiership campaign.

Which team looked the tighter unit on the weekend. We were fractured. I doubt the Lever sideshow helped one bit.

Wish the crows would orchestrate something with Brisbane behind the scenes to get them to take lever in the draft. Maybe Cameron for an early 3rd rounder and in return you have to take lever with your first pick. ******* do it.
so we lose cameron and lever for a 3rd rounder? thats not smart negotiating

How about Cameron and our 2nd for pick 1 and we force Lever to the draft where they can have him

So Levers Contract $ makes him a higher paid player, at 21 yo, than Dangerfield is being paid in his prime ($700K IIRC) :p
Woah, who is this hooded man, whom emerges from the darkness with a distinct lack of dots...

I can't believe it either. We are talking a 3rd year, third tall, whom will be paid money beyond that of brownlow medalists. Crazy.
