Not a chance that Carlton will take Arrowsmith. Not a chance in hell.
Still, love the write up.

Why cause you don't like him and don't want them to?

I like it Weaver. Say it how it is instead of makeing it sound like everyone is a dead set champion.

Why would we go for another slow midfielder who can't hit targets?

Great effort, but not really addressing Adelaide's needs particularly with these picks, all we are getting is medium to tall defenders and tall wingmen pretty much.

We really need a crumbing small forward or 2, a quick midfielder, a tougher inside midfielder and probably another tall forward to cover our losses over the summer in this department, we may recruit 1 or 2 players of the winger half back kind of role, not 5.

Whilst a young key defender may be good to have on our list, at the moment this is not imperitive so i doubt we would pick up Rance. If this were the draft i would be very dissapointed, with only perhaps only one of our requirements met in picking up 2 key forwards.

I would also seriously doubt we would let blokes like Vezpremi, Maric, Motlop and Greenwood slip by us at 27, 30 and even 38 when they suit our needs much better.

I am not sure how you have judged Maric, Weaver.
Are you judging him on the 2 games he played at TAC level this year?
Are you judging him on the Nationals where necessity dictated that he play forward?
Are you judging him on his half a dozen or so games of TAC footy played as a 16 year old?
Are you judging him from his efforts playing for PEGS?
I guess I would like you to contextulise where you have formed your opinion of him.
I have similar concerns with his body shape but he is about the best kick in the draft, one touch below his knees and very clever.
Interestingly I went down to have a look at Calders first training run yesterday (I have missed my footy!) and he looked really good with his endurance running.
Cheers:thumbsu:

gread read weaver :)

i dont know how i would feel taking a ruckman in kruezer with pick 3? i havent entertained the wce taking him at all, strange call, but meh, good to see different opinions

entertaining, but I cant work out if you are selcting guys where you think the clubs will take them or where you think they should go?

Top job Weaver. I like the idea of us taking Rance with our first pick. Like you said, Bassett is getting a bit long in the tooth (plus the delisting of Torney and lack of years left it Massie) so Rance would be a good replacement. A few Crows fans might protest our need for more key backs, but I could see us taking that direction and it's a selection that suits our game plan - to not concede any points, ever.

However, if we look over Veszpremi three times I will break my radio. As much as I'd like us to take him I don't see it happening as I feel he'll fall between our first and second picks because he's got enough upside and so much to like to counter any injury or body shape concerns.

25 - Brisbane - Cam Ward.

Who is Cam Ward??????

Do you mean Callum?
Starting goalie for the Carolina Hurricanes in the NHL. He's bound to have good endurance and would be an excellent reader of the play, but I'm not sure if he would convert to AFL football considering he'd be on about $4 million a year.

Not a chance that Carlton will take Arrowsmith. Not a chance in hell.
Still, love the write up.
The write up on Arrowsmith is easily the funniest and most accurate I've seen for any player in this draft. God, I hope it's not us.

Why would we go for another slow midfielder who can't hit targets?

Well if thats the case why would anyone?

Just because you don't like him doesn't mean he is any less likely to end up at your club than he is anywhere else.

62. Kangaroos – Wes Lammie

A 202cm ruckman and a candidate to be taken as a 19 year old overage player after a good Colts season including a good performance in a winning grand final side. Has good athleticism and pace for a guy his size but will need bulk and time. Those going to that Colts GF to see Morton would have been far more impressed by Lammie.
On Richmond,s radar apparently.

Very interesting. It looks as if you are courting controversy with this draft. I really hope that your selections for West Coast are WRONG as I can't say that I like them at all !

Good effort Weaver.

Only one issue I have is that you have the Blues picking the best youngster in the draft, when for the last two years they haven't done this, why would they change that now.

Good work Weav - You seem so have a solid understanding of both the needs of Collingwood and the kinds of players we look at drafting.

Mulligan has a lot of question marks over him, but more upside than any ruckman in the draft aside from Kreuzer and Simpson, and Meredith isn't your pure inside midfielder, but he will attack the ball, and he can play other roles.

Gets my Collingwood tick of approval as plausible, although I'm not sure it's necessarily what I'm praying for.

Well if thats the case why would anyone?

Just because you don't like him doesn't mean he is any less likely to end up at your club than he is anywhere else.

Based on his form last year. Apparently a Non-Victorian club were ultra keen on him last year, but he wanted to stay in Melbounr and complete his VCE. He told them if they were still keen in 12 months, then they could draft him then.

I agree with a few key points.

1. Cotchin should be number 1.
2. Cotchin wouldn't be suited to subi.
3. Kruezer will go number 1.
4. Melbourne will 100% take Palmer.
5. I see Rance going to Adelaide too.
6. If dogs don't take him, I agree, Henderson will slip big.

We'll take Henderson at 11 :thumbsu:

weaver probably the most clueless phantom draft out there at the moment

to say that grant is going to drop to 27 is amazing you must not really watch much footy but just take everyone elses opinions

scott simpson and jarrad grant were the leading tacklers and 1% getters for the vic metro team and you say they both dont follow up enough or tackle you are a silly silly man and your opinion should not be valued as much as it is

i cannot wait till saturday to prove most of you fools wrong
i have grant pick 5
simspon anywhere from 14-21
and mccarthy nowhere after 48

Do you know that other players and TAC teams exist mate?

If that's the way it would pan out for Brisbane, we'd have 3 definite players of the future.

Ward and Myers would be excitement machines, would compliment the ball winners well, IMO. Greenwood would be a good cannonball through the centre. :)

i sure do buddy but unlike a lot of people i dont like to right about people i do not have sufficient information on because then people get the wrong information on people
i have seen the people i talk about a lot and therefore can talk about them with confidence
people such as weaver might have seen these people play once or not at all and still making judgements from other people opinions :thumbsd:

thats just stupid dont ya agree

Mate, it's just a bit of fun. What's the point if every single PD had the exact same picks...

Anyways, as much as I'd love to see a Beda boy at the Saints I really think we should take someone like Rance at pick 9.

But yeah, great write-up an a good read.
