Stants and Fletch didnt join in with the main group. Fletch did the warm ups and should be ok but dont think Stants will come up.

Houli resumed training tonight and got through with no porblems.

Natrat and Dempsey are both on traget to resume in the Bendigo v Casey game on June 24.

Slatts went off early with some sort of minor leg problem.

Gumby is coming along well. Could be a chance to play against Casey. Did a bit of kicking today along with an agility test.

Lovett and Neagle joined in the first few drills before doing some running. Lovett will be ready after the bye.

Jetta and Hocking both got through Mondays comeback game with no problems.

Hislop didnt train because of his shoulder injury.

That bendigo side will be fun to watch in a couple of weeks. The future is bright for our club and the great thing is most opposition fans think we're an old list with no youth. It will makeit all the sweeter when these kids make their mark in a couple of years time. I can feel that ol' bomber arrogance starting to return and i love it.;)

what do you mean starting to return, it never left;)

touchwood *touches head* if we hopefully get through this game unscathed, we should be just about have 100% of the list chose from after the break.

Hopefully Dempsey, Hislop, Reimers and Lonergan can force themselves into the side in the 2nd half of the season. Perhaps a sneak look at Gumby would be nice as well.

When you throw in guys like Jetta, Nash, Houli, and more senior guys in Johns, Campo, Cole, Heff and Bradley all struggling for consistent games, it is a great position to be in, but makes it very hard to blood youth. Rama could be a wildcard as well.

priddis is a great example of why blooding youth at the top level isn't necessary, the guy got used to dominating games without getting a chance last eyar due to the Eagles depth, instead of getting bit roles at the Eagles. Now his time is here he has taken the confidence and ball magnetism he learnt at WAFL level and continued it on at AFL level.

While he is an example, you can't expect every player to walk into an AFL side and start turning up numbers in the 30's like Priddis has, it would be more common I think for players to improve their confidence in their first 20-30 games in the big time.

I think the step up from where most of these boys come from is to big. The majority have came from TAC or school footy where they have dominated against smaller younger guys like theirselves. A season or 2 in the reserves under their belt gets them used to playing on the bigger bodies and also gives them time to settle into the awe of it all.

This isn't necessary for all players as Selwood this year and guys like Murphy and thomas last year have shown they can step straight in be contributors and gain much more from playing 1sts than dominating 2nds. However Priddis is far from the exception with older recruits with experience against the bigger bodies like Davey and Roe have proven in the last couple of years also.

Agree totally.
No need to play the first year recruits unless they force themselves in through good play at Bendigo or we have injuries.

Maybe give them one game as a taste.
