Fixture Week 1 finals fixture

Supply and demand. Giants struggle to fill their 20k stadium even for finals. If there was sufficient demand the game would be moved to a larger stadium.
The Giants have drawn 18,500 plus to all but one of their finals — those were against the Dogs and Lions too so hardly high drawing.

Could have easily taken this to the bigger ground given the Hawks will have a lot more travelling support. This would have been a perfect dress rehearsal to see if the Giants would play a Collingwood, Essendon or Carlton at Engie or the bigger stadium.

Like I said, if its good enough for the Giants it should be good enough for the Cats. Especially given that Kardina Park is now bigger than the Gabba, Engie and Metricon which all hosts games.

Yes, any Giants final that could potentially draw more than 25k should be played at the SCG. 22k would turn into 30k pretty easily I reckon.

Let’s see if this week sells out first.

Anyone have an idea of which teams play in the semi finals week 2?
Friday night - Loser Crows/pies v winner giants/ hawks
Saturday night - Loser cats/lions v winner dockers/suns
That's what seems logical to me anyway
Seems logical to me.

The Geelong/Brisbane game should have been on Saturday and GWS/Hawks on Friday night to avoid Hawthorn or GWS having a 6 day break against Collingwood on the Friday night of week 2.

Collingwood are going to have an 8 day break and the oppo a 6 day break for the semi finals.

Should be cancelled out given the Giants and Hawks had a 13 day break leading into the EF. If anything it could work against the loser of the Pies and Crows given they played on the Friday and Saturday in the last round.

Adelaide oval sold out Adelaide oval members took most of the tickets

The crowd will be going off will make vic park look like morning tea

Have fun Houston
Imagine not understanding that Collingwood Members got a large allocation of the ground that was never made available to Crows fans to purchase.

There will be way more Collingwood fans at the Elimination Final than there were in Round 23.

Giants have Buckley, Daniel, Kelly, Hogan, Stringer due to return. RIP Hawks
Weddle for us equally as important as those mentioned. Hogan and Stringer don't concern me. Daniels kills us but is he really going to at his first game since round 3 in a final? Highly doubt it and if anything will be sub.

If results go the way I hope after next weekend we won't travel again so the break between matches is almost irrelevant if your not travelling.

They used to throw cups of urine at the opp players walking down the race at vic Park. I wonder what the Crows fans have in store to beat that?
No doubt a long time ago

But after the last game you would think Adelaide oval will be as loud as it’s ever been, all part of the theatre and drama the aFL wants

Let’s hope no one gets carried away too much but nothing wrong with a lot of noise to add to the atmosphere, I doubt the crowd will be holding back

How many goals is it worth is the question

Do you think Adelaide just have to turn up and win?
I watched the Pies live against Melbourne last week and I wouldn’t tip Collingwood in a fit based on that performance.

Sure, it’s possible you’ll win, but a serious turn around in form will be required. Not just from last week but for a good 6 or 7 weeks.

Freo fans keep going back to this.
I guess it is your most significant win in your entire history.
Nothing much else to fall back on.
Well we can't help the past

Lets be frank no one gave us a chance to win that final.

Geelong had won 48 games from there previous 50 there dating back to 2007. It was a graveyard for everyone.

Its a moment in history Freo fans will always look back fondly on.

The day we probably finally won some respect of the AFL world going down to the Cattery and winning a final.

It was the first time we qualified in top 4 and won to host a prelim final.

When we do eventually win a Flag that 2013 group will still be remembered in club history as the First Freo side to make a GF.

While we shat the bed with the set shot kicking on GF day we kept it close enough to still be a chance in the last quarter and didn't completely disgrace themselves.

I reckon a few clubs since 2013 were wishing they never made it to GF day considering the dross they have tossed up on GF day.

Crows crowds never go off.
Speaking of morning tea..the crows crowd demographic is mainly people over the age of 60-65 , mostly boomers and women with Bob haircuts.
There will be squealing and momentary applauses. They come big in numbers but they're hardly hostile. Probably not even an exaggeration to say the loudest fans in that stadium will be travelling Pies fans.
Shut the squeals out early and pies can come away with a win especially now that the only X factor Adelaide had in the middle was Rankine.

2013 Freo were nicely positioned at 3/4 time. I reckon Ross would have taken that option if given it before the game.

The Hawks though were pretty bloody good qtr 4. They won that game, rather than Freo losing it. Pretty handy team Hawks, a treble after all.

Do most think that Semi Final 1 will be on the Friday night?
If crows lose they would play next friday night. If pies lose they would play next Saturday. That's my prediction anyway.
