Ween

New Dean Ween album is a ripper

He's a simple man old deaner.

A couple of guitars, bass, drums and a rockin beat.

And he does it so well.

Great performance from DWG, shame it was only 50 mins. 60% of Ween on stage tonight and were on fire from the start. Joe Kramer no slouch on guitar either, i loved how he and Mickey alternated between lead and rhythm.

I didn't stay for all of Primus, don't mind them but they are an acquired taste. Pretty good light show though.

DWG were awesome.

I though we were going to get a 50 minute Dickie Betts at one stage. Deaner wanted to keep going when they got the nod to get off for Primus.

Primus were brilliant. John the Fisherman, Southbound Pachyderm, and My Name Is Mud highlights of the show for me.

s**t that’s awful. I think iirc I read on brown tracker he knew Mickey and Aaron a bit or may have been from New Hope. I might have that all mixed up in my head but either way terribly sad news.

OK, just got back from 5 weeks in the US. Spent 7 days in New York and planned the whole trip around a Wednesday night so I could go to the Invitational at Jon and Peters.

The place is really small but awesome. My wife and I were obvious out of towners but we got there early and got a great seat downstairs where the bands play. We settled in and I was checking out the assembled musicians but didn't see Deaner anywhere. Anyway one bloke sat next to us and asked what brought us to New Hope, my wife told him I was a big Ween fan. He then told us he was a friend of Deaner and he had the flu and was resting up for Weens 2 gigs at the Capitol which was in 10 days time. He was really funny and was apologising that Deaner wasn't there. I told him not to worry it wasn't his fault haha. He then asked me if I wanted his number to give him a call, I said no I didn't want to bother him if he was ill. He then rang Deaner to see if there was any chance of him coming down but he was too sick. Anyway it was a great night, here is the run down:

Man missed by a week, bummer.

Still awesome night that you got to see/hear.

Still a dream for me

Might have to get a few....

My 2008 Aus Tour mighty Boognish is almost worn out as is my god ween satan.

I’ll be updating the wardrobe as they get released.

I think there’s 33 Ween, Dean Ween, Aaron Freeman shirts that I have. I lost my chocolate and cheese one and my Friends one and maybe a few others over the years.

A mate just sent me this. It was the review of Paintin the town brown that was in the Adelaide advertiser when it was released. He stuck it in the CD cover for posterity.

It’s awesome.
