AFter I saw a guy break his arm on bench I always use safety rails. Seen arm break on squats too. Always use the rails.Ah yes - meant to post the link but (clearly) failed miserably.
I've never use collars on anything anymore. The weights just don't fall off themIf a bench has no safeties make sure you don’t use collars - can tip the bar if you get pinned.

Ever seen a dumbell fall on a mobile phone?I use them on deadlift and squat. Have calibrated plates. More a safety measure when squatting but definitely need them on deadlift as plates move.
