Just getting stronger in general will help your footy. There are so many different facets to the game that its hard to pinpoint certain areas to focus on

I would agree, be precise not perfect. As per the posters comment "young and lanky" main focus is stay consistent, lift, eat and recover. Putting some size on will naturally add strength. Nuance can be added as he progresses.

Ah yes - meant to post the link but (clearly) failed miserably.
AFter I saw a guy break his arm on bench I always use safety rails. Seen arm break on squats too. Always use the rails.
 
I've never use collars on anything anymore. The weights just don't fall off them

I use them on deadlift and squat. Have calibrated plates. More a safety measure when squatting but definitely need them on deadlift as plates move.
