Thought it'd be interesting to see what footballing traditions are around out there and if they're unique or more common than we think.

Our family home doorbell is to the tune of 'Not Giving In' by Rudimental and each time it is pressed we welcome our guests in with a slow building clap that gradually escalates as the song reaches climax as a homage to Port Adelaide when they play this song before they run out on to the field. It generates a lot of excitement around the house and our guests are always speechless.
Do you have any weird and wonderful football traditions?

Do you string a crepe banner across your hallway with positive messages about your guests written on it?

South Australia, serial killer country.

Do you put tarps on the couch when you don't have visitors?
Back when we lived at our old house we did in fact used to cover up the couch when it was not in use but since we moved to a nicer suburb we've had a lot more visitors so we've thrown the tarp out. Although most of them prefer to stand on the mound in the living room that we specially built to simulate the experience of being on the hill at Adelaide oval. When our family gets together to watch The Hot Seat every night we are all standing on there and get right in to it. Lots of yelling that goes on, our neighbours must think we're mad!

Sometimes dad turns off the electricity at the breaker box. Then the rest of us start chanting "POOOOOOW-ERRRRRR. POOOOOOOW-ERRRRR" until he turns it back on and then we cheer. :)
