Love matt thomas feedback. Ports facility are ok but Richmonds are the best i have ever seen and so professional lol

I wonder what Matty White will say when he rocks up to Alberton for his first session haha.

Has gone from living large to living in the ghetto

The areas surrounding port adelaide are improving and there way up in value. It's a developing area.
Very happy to see BMT giving another sad to see him go, but it was best for both parties. I think he could be a walk in replacement for Shane tuck. Is still young despite looking 40! Hard as nails. And one hell of a tackler!

“There’s going to be a bit of midfield, a bit of half-forward, and there might be a bit of ‘bash-and-crash’ at times, which is the type of footy I like to play.
“So, hopefully, there’s a role in there for me. With the likes of the midfielders they’ve already got, and the excellent runners, it’ll just be nice to be able to slot in there somewhere and try and help them out and give the ball to ‘Cotch’ (Trent Cotchin) and ‘Lids’ (Brett Deledio). I’m sure they’ll do something nice with it . . .”
Is it just me or does this sound like he's been told he'll be playing more frequently in the seniors than we seem to think?

Plus the way he spoke about moving his gf interstate for the second time and how hesitant he was to do that, I think he'd be more likely to have agreed to come if he was told 10-12 games are likely. Form will always determine selection so he won't be gifted a game, but he might have been assured he has a slight priority? We know Dimma does do that.

I think they may give him a crack more then some think. He maybe used a bit as the hard lock the ball down down to create a stoppage type mid which we lack. The boy can tackle and more importantly has a decent tank to run, and run. I have warmed to him, he has huge limitations but if he is used to pass the ball by hand more and tackle and use his second, third efforts it will force some of our younger player who aspire to be inside mids to work harder to force him out.

I'd say he's been assured of a "promoted rookie" spot, which is essentially a senior list position
Will be interesting to see if Orren has been promised the other one now that we have Hampson, or if they'll have a competition between the others for the last one

My understanding is it will be a competition and I'd expect Miles to win it and play early. Both guys add a defensive side to our midfield that we severely lack.

For both spots or just for one?
Thomas seems like he turned down a senior list position elsewhere to take up a spot on our rookie list, so I'd say he's done that if he's been told he's be a promoted rookie

I would have thought both. Thomas will probably win the other one anyway.

Hopefully he becomes good value! In terms of trades and movement of players between our clubs, I think Port are ahead (especially with adding White). Need Matty Thomas to be a 'win' for us :D

Do you think we deliberately only took 38 players on our main list so it would create competition between the rookies for the final 2 spots?
Id suggest Thomas and Miles would be the front runners but depending on injury i wouldn't rule our Darrou.

On the RFC website it has Orren on the senior list already. So last couple of spots probs Thomas and Miles as they add depth where we need it.

Maybe they haven't changed it yet? Don't remember Orren getting promoted permanently

Yeah I don't recall any announcement but all other player details are correct, just wondering if the club is leaving him on the senior list cos they know he has been upgraded:confused:
