CARLTON has today secured Amelia Barden and pick No.14 in a three-way trade with the Collingwood and Melbourne.

The Blues secured pick Nos. 14 and 21 (from the Victorian draft) from Melbourne for the midfielder, and then on-traded pick No.21 to Collingwood to secure the services of Barden.

Not a 1:1 replacement for Maddison Gay, especially since Gay is new to footy and will only improve, but looking at the stats, Barden is a decent replacement. A lot of tackles this season...

Double the number of tackles, slightly higher average disposals, a few less marks which is a real shame if she isn't a tall marking option like Maddison was.


Also to note, this list is ranked by Total Score and Collingwood have lost Christina Bernadi (GWS), Mo Hope (North), Jasmine Garner (North), Caitlin Edwards (retired, returning to rugby), Amelia Barden (Carl), Meg Hutchins (delisted), Emma King (North)

I think they might struggle to score next year. While we've lost 3 in that top 10 scorers. Arnell (Lions), Gay (Dees) and Shierlaw (delisted)
