Knowing what the League does now, where would Hammer have gone in last year's draft?
I feel he would not be out of place in the top 20.
So if this is true, we basically got two very good first rounders last draft.

Been a very good pick up so far. He's playing at an extraordinary level for a guy with a month's training and thrown into the deep end at the start of the season. He looks a quality player going forward. Him & King playing together for the next few years could be potentially scary for the comp.
Well done to him.

guy until Hammer had his tangle. Murphy showed his true colours dacking that young GWS player. What a ridiculous thing to do.

But the Hammer has endeared himself to Saints fans. Going to be very interesting to see him operating with King over the next few seasons.

I'll stop short of saying he's a lock to play 150 games but each time I see him play, the more I lean towards him becoming a long term player. He has the athleticism, attitude, physical attributes, competitiveness and marking ability. Needs to work on set shot kicking and composure but he's showing awesome signs and looks like a great pickup. Pretty impressive what he's doing as a power forward as a teenager. Like Owens and Windy, imagine them at 25

and the previous draft, if done again today, both NWM and Owens are definite 1st rounders... whilst Windy would most likely also be in the top 20.

Nas was pick 11 in a very strong draft, he probably went slightly ahead of where he was expected to. Hobbs, Sinn, Chesser, Sonsie types were more obvious choices at the time.

That was a strong draft which was lucky for us because both our academy kids drifted out. Sonsie went well into the second round and I rated Soligo on the weekend who went somewhere around Owens pick too.

Definitely helps when you get your picks right though, if they all hit their ceiling (which looks more likely under Lyon) we have a pretty decent foundation.

Probably a bit harder to measure than on pure data. Without King or Membrey, Hammer got to play as a pure tall forward with little competition for touches. Cadman had Hogan, Riccardi and others all playing up front taking ball off him. I think it's too early to know their futures off that sample size but looking forward to seeing him develop. He has the tools to become a gun.
