THE Port Adelaide Football Club is pleased to welcome Geoff Morris back to the club as a development coach ahead of the 2020 AFL Premiership Season.

Morris left Port Adelaide at the end of 2006, having been an assistant coach to Mark Williams and part of the coaching set-up that won the 2004 AFL premiership. He has spent the past 13 years at Hawthorn, first as a development coach and then as part of the Hawks’ recruiting team.

Most recently Morris has overseen Hawthorn’s recruiting from zones west of Victoria from his base in Adelaide.

Off topic but that is a great picture. The one of the coaches the media usually uses has Walsh obscured as he has his arm up holding the cup and Morris isn't in it.

Great news.

That is really good considering our struggles with development in recent years. We really can't afford to fu** up another crop like the Wines, Wingard 25 year old era.

GM - “I really think <young player A> is coming on in leaps and bounds and has the potential to be one of the gun high half forwards/midfielders of the competition if given plenty of opportunity...”

KH - “That sounds great Geoff...”

KH - *grins like a proud father as he pencils Cam Sutcliffe’s name on the team sheet on Thursday*

Great appointment, the negative talk really is boring people, Ken isn't going anywhere yet - but will - enjoy some terrific news for a change, cripes, feel positive!
Yes, some positive news for a change.

Time to stop letting the turkey drag us down and soar like a Morris eagle.
