Nope you read correctly, but the role is definitely in development to my knowledge.

This footy card picture is so terrible it's amazing.

Personally I'm hardpressed buying that Brad Gotch would walk away from South Adelaide after they'd commenced pre-season only to take up a role only working with our Oakleigh Academy kids and Father Son prospects (its not really worth mentioning Barkly at this time given the current low number of prospects).

My best guess is that he will be the chief of the academy and work with the younger boys in development. Ultimately I'd be shocked if he works purely within the Academy setup.

You would certainly hope so, would be a waste of his talents if he was simply an Academy coach.

I'm sceptical too especially given the relatively late appointment. I also can't see the academy coaching role being full time at this stage. I'd imagine there's restrictions on how much time an academy prospect can spend with CFC and most of their time would be spent at the chargers hence how proposed alliance.

Either way it's a good appointment.
