Shite. Hope it gets better.

Issues so far:
- too much empty screen
- can't see teams
- adds too prominent (downloading ad block as I type this)
- lack of preview
- stupid avatars of thread starters next to threads

I'm sure much of this is fixable, however some of it seems like it won't be.

Why the change?

User CP was useful for listing the subset of the forums I was interested in, not just my watched threads (which was available in VB too).

E.g. I want a quick link to the Media & Entertainment subforum, without User CP I would have to browse a few pages down from the top level forum page.

There is a Watched Forums page as well:

http://www.bigfooty.com/forum/watched/forums/all

Presently you can't edit it, but I imagine that will be enabled eventually so you can have the equivalent of your subscribed forums list.

It would be good to eventually get an equivalent page to the old User CP.

Could posts take up more space? BF is now a scroll-a-thon.

Yeah, it sucks. You only get a post or two on a page. It is like someone has sat down and decided what this place needs is more grey space. Definitely not enough grey space.

Why can't you collapse sections anymore? Having to scroll past big sections like More Footy all the time when I never post there will get tedious after a while.

I think you can edit it if you go to each individual forum you would like to watch and there are some options there. But it seems they will only show if there has been activity in that forum since your last visit (which shouldnt be an issue for the subforums I visit)

Lots will change. The priority was getting a useable forum back online so people can post, rather than leaving it offline whilst all the little tweaks were done.

The cosmetics will be fixed gradually.

vBulletin was a disaster on the back end and put huge loads on the server farm. Once everything gets tweaked, Xen will be a much better user experience than old BF.

It no longer shows the AFL team, and other sporting clubs supported, by the poster. I go for Richmond and in a discussion I'd like to know whether the people involved go for Richmond or another club, etc. If that makes sense.

This. It's a footy forum, and allegiance is kind of important when having discussions... Especially if someone is talking about their own team...

Also, two small problems.

Can't access site via tapatalk app. Not sure if the issue is on my end, but comes up with "System Message" Please install the addon-Tapatalk.xml file in your Admin CP before attempting to use Tapatalk".

Also not sure if I am the only one, sometimes when jumping to threads, by entire screen will be black with the exception of a few words here and there. If I highlight all, then unclick, goes back to normal. Doesn't happen every time, but at least 3-4 times already. Running Safari 5.1.

Other then that, looks alright. Change is good, even if there is a little resistance at first.

What's up with the sidebar down the left? I opened it and expanded that boards that I had previously and then I opened a new page and every board has been expanded and it's a mile long and so difficult to read.

Grey is dull. Go back to the old colours.
