I understand this isn't a finished product, but I'm really missing the old place.....

i havent had a chance to read thru this entire thread, but my issue is/was......

my workplace still uses IE6, with no chance of an upgrade soon. i finally found a way to login (cant even remember how). the screen for login does not stay in place (scrolls off the screen).
there may be many folk who have this issue due to their workplace.

The more I browse the more I find shit I really hate about this new setup.

A lot is gonna have to change or a fair few members will be lost I think.

People said the same thing about the last upgrade.

Once you get past the look, fundamentally the site is very similar to vBulletin. A few tweaks to a few of the visuals, a couple of months to get used to it, and you'll be glad that the change happened.

Nah, I plan to stay bitter and inflexible forever.

Haha, in all seriousness though, there looks to be some good opportunities here - stick it out...

Don't mind the change. Don't love it, but don't hate it.

One issue -

Not sure if it has been mentioned but thread names/titles are almost impossible to read on an iPhone now. Yes, I have perfect eyesight. Once you're in the thread, the text size is fine. But you pretty much have to zoom in on the iPhone to be able to read the thread titles which is very annoying. Considering how many people use iPhones (etc) these days, that seems like a massive step backwards to me. (is there a way to change the default size that I'm missing?)

The look is the only thing most people care about.

What's up with the sidebar? Everytime time I enter a board or thread everything expands.

When I'm just on the forums page everything is fine. How do I keep the sidebar like this?
Clicking on the grey rectangular box in the top left hand corner minimises the jump bar. It remembers if you like it closed or expanded.

The last upgrade was still vBulletin though. Moving to a new platform is a much larger change.

I know the site owners wanted to change and have put a lot of work into it, but from a user perspective it feels like a step backwards.

At least fix the line height in the stylesheet. It's horrible.

Just noted supported teams are back under our names *thumbs up*

They're only up for the BigSoccer Skin though, not for the Default option. I prefer the default option as it feels more like the old Bigfooty and doesn't have the ridiculous grey space on either side. But that's negated by the fact you can't see which team posters support.

As long as it's no less functional, people will get used to the changed look pretty quickly. Once we have a new skin with better colours/fonts, and fix the page width issue, everyone will be a lot happier.

But is it currently no less functional?

(I know that things will get better - I've seen forum changes before, and yes, generally people get over it.)

The 3 bucks for Tapatalk is seriously worth it.

Fundamentally, it's not that different. The guys who wrote XenForo are ex-vBulletin programmers and from a user perspective the software is very similar to the latest vBulletin release (so similar, they got sued).

Agreed. All this little stuff will be tweaked. The priority was getting the site back online ASAP so people could post, and doing the odds and ends fixes incrementally.

Is there any way to multi-quote? I had to do it manually.

You said you can't upgrade. I assume you also can't install an alternative browser. One suggestion is to try Google Chrome Portable.

When changing avatar, no chance to just use a URL instead of uploading one from your computer?
I've been asking for this for a long time. Personally I'd like 100 posts per page. 10-30 is insufficient.
