Good to see Shae appears to have survived one of the harshest cuts of all, when all seemed lost for the big fella.

Back into training and doesn't he look a picture - this could be what it means to take on Witts in the ruck!

I'm kinda glad we kept him, he has improved so much from 2 years ago.

I know that everything is against him to play AFL, especially his age, but i think he deserved one more year to really show something.

Good to see he knows he needs a big year and is getting into it early.

I know for sure Hartley is just leaving Sydney (today or yesterday) so should be joining the group later in the week if not tommorow.

Ceglar i expect is delayed due to QANTAS strikes.

ON a funny note - Jurrah is stranded in Alice springs and could miss up to two weeks of demons preseason thanks to QANTAS strikes hahah

Also Hartley is a NSW scholorship not international rookie

It wouldn't surprise me if we kept Shae. As an international rookie he can be included as one of three extra rookies. If he took a spot on the rookie list I think he would almost certainly be cut.

And I kind of warmed to Shae's dad when he'd get involved in the VFL live commentary, anxious about his son's progress. It is a bit of a feelgood story.

Update: Caolen mooney and ugle where both at training today as well.

Anyone know why nathan brown wasnt there... he said he was nearly over his injuries end of last season so why isnt he starting pre season

Might be doing different kind of training, don't think he would be put into the main training group straight off the bat

He was in Europe on the 28th and tweeted on the 29th:

Even though he was no chance of playing wasn't he in the finals training squad right through til then end? I think you will find that all players part of that group (Maxy excluded) are still a few weeks away from resuming.

As for Shae; surprised he was kept on but happy for the guy. Does anyone else think that this about face on his re-signing to the rookie list is perhaps a sign the club is concerned about Jolly's body holding up? With Leroy departing there is no other mature body that could step in to support Cam Wood if needed. It also allows us to keep Witts and Ceglar developing in the magoos without having to subject their bodies to senior action that they are not yet ready for.

For him to train with CFC he has to be (a) on our list or (b) permission to train approval from AFL.
If the club intended to delist him, they would have done that today.
