IMO Shae's kept to bolster Collingwoo's fans in the US.
Hypothetically, no doubt if Shae keeps improving, and he gets to the point where he can crack the AFL side but only has 1 year left in him, it would still be massive for the club over in the US. Would put a massive stamp on the country about Collingwood.

Great news, the rumours of him getting de listed were true. Buckley informed him he wouldn't be at the club next season before the copeland. Shae was devastated, and i have it on very good word that recently Alaistair Clarkson called up Shae and said the Hawks would rookie him and he would be third in line as ruckman, funnily enough when Buckley heard this he called up Shae and welcomed him back. May correlate with losing leon him being offered a contract, but great news for Shae, he was devastated when he was told he wouldn't be required.
Why would Hawthorns interest change our mind on delisting our player?
I adore Shae....that aside; I doubt Bucks, Hines, etc...would keep anyonre just because AC approached them???
Yes, something else must have changed their minds on Shae??
Maybe Shae's constant tweets & texts (to Bucks/Hine), coupled with truckloads of optimism.
He wore them down.....ok ok....we'll give you another contract! Plse stop texting us!
Anyway, I am very happy for him...could be the 'Rudy' (Notre Dame footballer), who persisted & persisted until they gave him a game (the only game he played for them - they made a movie about it).
If we lose either Jolly or Wood for an extended period then its going to be a huge ask on Ceglar and Witts who are youngsters to play the second ruck role. Ideally these players should not play more than 2-3 senior games in 2012.
The one thing Shae has going for him is an extra year in the system and 6-7 years extra physical development. Personally I'd have delisted him and gone for another experienced player as a back-up, but he is there for insurance to protect our up and comers from being exposed too early to senior football.
