There was one bit of play last week where he came in & bumped an Essendon player off the line of the ball, collected the ball off the ground & dished off the handball almost in one continuous motion. Was beautifully done, hope he can make a successful transition to a mid.
One of my favourite small moments from last week for sure

So, it's finally happening (apparently)...Hough to the midfield proper. I know many of us have been curious about this since he was drafted as a utility of sorts, with great upside.

He cemented a spot in the 22 much quicker than we all expected. Just a slight young kid toiling away as a lockdown defender like a 100 game veteran. And very quickly we all moved on from wondering much about his midfield potential at all...and fair enough.

Personally I'm fascinated to see how he goes this weekend. He's got poise, good in a contest and good overhead. He's got courage and leadership. Tackles well. All good traits.

The unknowns; does his good kicking/disposal hold up in the heat of the midfield? Is he good on the spread in our fast paced new game style? Can he still hit the scoreboard as was highlighted in his draft profile?

I'm not expecting an elite 25 touches and a goal type of game or anything like that, but I am looking forward to having a better understanding of where he truly fits into our team. If it remains in defence, so be it. He's fantastic there.

Just a few of my thoughts on it, but I'd be keen to hear from other posters.. opinions, predictions, etc.
This day has been coming ever since Ginbey was moved to defense. I'm looking forward to seeing how this plays out.

Nailed it really. Im not expecting a quick win with this but its gotta be given a shot. I think we gotta really go with this for 3 months. If he has 8 possessions 3 weeks in a row, just persist. Nows the time to see what happens

Yeah start with Flynn, Hough, Harley, Hewett in the guts for a few weeks 👍💪

Kelly will return at some point but hopefully this works and Kelly can be shunted to the wing or HFF

I think Kelly would be better across HF or pocket.

Cant see him pressuring much though but could sneak a goal or 2 here or there.

What about TK wing?
I'm in two minds about this idea. On paper, TK's best position should be wing. But we've got Graham running out there because he's a better two-way runner than TK is. We've also got Hunt on a wing, so we'd effectively be running two 30-year-olds on the wings at times.

Hunt can go. He's been great as a stop gap but he's been shocking this year.

Mongrel Punt described him as a young Yeo and while he has been great I find that lazy description. Yeah similar height and HBF turned to mid but Yeo has always been very physical player and someone that loves a contested ball. Not knocking Hough as he has so far been a shit ton better than what I thought he’d be as a mid.

Hough plays in the mid allowing the ball to stay in the front half more and hence better chance of winning.
