Wish Byron all the best at his new club, just hope he doesn't iron out any Port players :p

Have great respect for the man, and almost all his hits are legal, apart from the Begley one, which has severely tarnished his image, despite players doing much dirtier things.

Hope he gets back to his best, but I'm not that nice a person, and hopes he struggles against port :P

He is a sniping thug though right? :p

Yes, but he's a sniping thug who plays for us. So he's alright. Mind you, I'd have Carlos the Jackal if he could kick 75 goals a season.

Deal done. Details to be confirmed later.

Finally we have a guy who actually IS a real demon on the field.

I'm more happy about the idea of him teaching Brock, Col and Beamer the tougher side of things.

Welcome aboard Byron, you little bastard. :)
I think why Byron can bump so well is that he as an instinct about where a player will be that allows him to hit at speed. He anticipates well. I don't think that skill can be taught. I think Byron is likely to have a good season and may become a cult figure like he was at North and Port. You'll find that of far more value than the odd big hit is his sheer turn of speed, superb ball handling and his finishing ability.

It's nice to see that the recruiting and coaching department realised what we lacked in season '05, and made an effort to rectify it.

I've had cracks at Pickett before (especially after that 2003 game) and his bumps aren't always entirely fair... but that's in the past now. He's in the red and blue, so who cares about his past.

Looking forward to seeing what he can do next season! Bring it on!

yeah exactly. we dont care who he has knocked out now because now he aint gonna be knocking out any of our players. he is gonna be storming through the other teams picket fences.

For the second year in a row I think we have pulled off a major coup.
Both times we only give up a pick and receive very good players.
'06 would be a very nice time to have a big crack at it Melbourne We have a reasonable draw so there is no excuses for slumping.

Congratulations guys on landing Byron Pickett. He's always has been and always will be one of my favourite players, and I hope he can get back to his best footy, even if he's not wearing the Port Adelaide jumper anymore.

Byron, I'll miss ya mate!

Every good team needs an intimidating player, so it is good that we finally have one.

Welcome Byron!

PS - I have never said any bad words about you... ;)
