I think Dev Robertson has a solid chance to turn into a Ben Keays type story. With consistent game time in his main preferred role as an inside mid, he will shine and become a solid citizen. I wouldnt be surprised if he polls well in your B and F for a few yesrs before being pushed out by all the developing young talent on the list in a few years time. Take good care of Dev. He is a good egg.

If Dev can have the same impact at West Coast as Keays has at Adelaide, I’d be rapt. It’s a good comparison, although Keays was a couple of years younger when he moved than Robertson is now

There’s clearly a role for Robertson to fill for us as an inside, defensively minded mid that didn’t exist at Brisbane due to their depth of talent

He would’ve been better advised to make the move two years ago, but loyalty and a determination to hold his spot in a contending side won out over a greater likelihood of guaranteed game time

Hopefully he’s keen to get stuck in here and make up for lost time - would probably have another 30+ AFL games under his belt had he moved.

Kinda want to avoid him being the IN/OUT subbed ON subbed OFF fringe gimp that he was at Brisbane.

Would be good getting him established in the senior side with some responsibility.



If spud Owies can be carried for virtually a whole season for a grand total of 7 goals, we can give Dev a proper look.

Yeah he definitely hooofed a lot of kicks up into the air or straight on the boot ala Duggan.

Elite movement through stoppages at times though, didn't know he had that in the kit bag. Looked like the Pies might've actually been tagging him.

Flawed player, but honest. If he stuffs up you can tell he instantly wants to make up for it.

Neither are likely to push the other to the 2's. I expect both will play AFL level until the kids push one or both of them out.

He did fine as a role player for Brisbane in 2023. Just got pushed out as the Ashcrofts, Fletcher and Marshall came in.

Worst case I’m sure he would give the sandover a pretty good run for its money, or he ends up being a pretty solid helper in our afl midfield.

Don’t think it’s too much of a knock in not being able to get consistent games in the dual premiers midfield after they get gifted multiple top talents.

But with Chess going out the list profile probably hasn’t changed that dramatically in terms of good looking roosters
