Gives the club something to seriously work towards, and a timeline to achieve success.

If we are still spooning it up with 1, 2 win seasons in 2028, than no one is going to blame him for wanting to look elsewhere.

But, If we get our shit together and start looking like a serious competitive footy team again and rising up the ladder, (and let's not kid ourselves, Reid has a huge responsibility in that, but he can't be left to do it all on his own, he needs help and support), the discisson to stay longer looks alot more promising

It is a fairly standard rookie extension to be fair. 2 years is not really an issue for a first extension, the next one is the big one.

Only thing would be the money. 2 mil a year outlay only for him to leave would be a bit of a kick in the guts so ideally you’d want more security for such a high salary but otherwise it’s fairly normal
