is there ANYWAY hawks can pinch him easily, because he may simply want to come back to melbourne instead of hawthorn while jack goes to hawks.

Please tell me there isnt a chance.

he can decide to nominate for the draft, but that is rare with F/S picks

and if he wanted to play for Hawthorn the draft wouldn't be a sure way to do it anyway, so no.

Unless the Hawks bottomed out in 2012 I doubt he'd take the risk. And they're quite a young side doing well, so bar injuries that's unlikely.

I don't see why Hawthorn wouldn't be able to get him using the same approach the crows where apparently going to try if Jack wanted to stay in Adelaide, but that for that to happen Jack would have to agree to not go to the Dee's and the Hawks would have to give up something very valuable to GWS.

I think you're just being paranoid TBH it's pretty much foregone that he will play for the Demons.

Ringo is right. For Jack to play for the Hawks, the following would have to occur:

1. Jack says he doesn't want to play for Dees under the Father/Son. (This will not hapen!!!)

2. Refuse to sign with GWS as a 17 year old.

3. Nominate for the ND and hope that he gets to the Hawks through this.

It will not happen.

So does F/S come before GWS U-17 picks? Or is it the other way around?

What happened with Brandon Matera?

F/S does have precendence over the GWS U/17 picks.

Brandon's father, Wally, only played 24 games over 2 years for WCE, therefore meaning Brandon wasn't eligible to go the the Eagles under the F/S.

No for him to get to the Hawks, he would have to be picked up by GWS as one of the players they list but must trade.

So Hawthorn would have to give GWS something very very good for them to accept this offer.

True. I didn't factor this one in. This is what Adelaide were hoping to do with young Jack. Emma Quayle cast some doubt over them being able to do this, didn't she???

Or he could ignore GWS advances. Nominate for draft. Get past multiple club selections, (including numerous GWS picks.) And get selected by Hawks.

There's more chance of Essendon winning the flag next year. :D

Oh right, thought Peter was his father :/

Hey has anyone got any info on Rod Grinters lad James? Playing very well at under 19 level for St Kevins but not turning 18 until 2011. A tall forward I beleive.

Not in the same bracket as Jack Viney, but has been touted as potential draft material. Anyone got any info on him atm?

in regard to grinters so schwabby said on that thing where you ask him questions he said melbourne was keeping their eye on him

From memory plays for Oakleigh and is a KPF type. Hard as a cats head (would you expect anything else) but lacks foot skills.

I thought his draft year was this year, but if 18 next year we may still see him come the 2011 draft.

I didn't think he was going that well TBH.

Played in the same team as Wallis and Liberatore at St Kevins and won the B&F !

But he won't be drafted. He can't kick.

Heard similar stuff about him, good/decent TAC cup/ APS player but skills can be average.

Still, beating 2 guys to a B&F who are touted as a top 10 & top 20 pick in the draft as a 17 y.o. is impressive, even if they missed games playing state.

If he's good enough to play Vic Metro next year, probably still worth taking. If no one bids for him under the father-son, we'd get him with our last pick like WC end their F/S this year.

His old man was a late developer. He couldn't get a game for I think it was Shepparton and had to go to Katandra West, maybe his son could do the same.
