It will be very interesting to see Jobe with another 5 -7kg’s of muscle next year after an off season in the gym, he’s going to be a powerful unit up forward.

Yeah, I hope you’re right.Good game, but wasn't as the main KPF against the top team...
You mean Waterman will be even better than his AA season when Shanahan takes the best KPD.Going to be even better next year when Waterman takes the best KPD off him.
You'd think both of them will get on before the end of the season. Whoever doesn't get it this week probably gets it next week after they barely touch the ball. It's that time of the year when they reward a seasons work over individual games.Flying Viking I think this week.

We already have Owies. That should be enough.Minor detail but once the ball hit the deck he was a bit like a foal taking his first steps a couple of times. We'll need some quality smalls at the drop because he's a vastly different player to JK, more like Daniher.

Lockett.Agree he's very very different to Kennedy, that comparison is lazy AF, but I'd take him turning into Joe Daniher sans injuries every day of the week.
Dopey Joe was very slippery, very skillful, and a quality player who got it together late in his career. Used to love watching him.
I still don't know who Jobe plays like the most. Georgiadis i reckon.
Sometimes you just know if a kid has it or not. Like everyone except McQualter could see Archer doesn't have it as a key forward.
This kid has it in spades.
He'd honestly be better off just retiring immediately, tbh.Dunno, I said that about Gross after his first and second game...
Aaaand then enter - McQualter to dick his development around for the rest of the season and outright refuse to play him in the midfield he was so impressive in.
Honestly wouldn't be surprised now if Gross turns out to be cooked and only ever plays mid in the WAFL.
Gross' problem is that he's small, raw and will be stuck behind the likes of Harley, Hewett and pick 1 for a while. He's clearly good enough to play AFL but we got murdered in the middle in the games we played three kids in there so we're trying him somewhere else. So far, that hasn't worked. But it's year 1.Dunno, I said that about Gross after his first and second game...

Who knows anymore. Honestly wouldn't be surprised now if Gross turns out to be cooked and only ever plays mid in the WAFL.

I know its not the Archer thread, but if we wanted Archer to be a ruckman id say that how we are using him right now is 100% the right way to use himSometimes you just know if a kid has it or not. Like everyone except McQualter could see Archer doesn't have it as a key forward.

Nobody is writing off Gross. I love that kid.
I'm writing off WCE ability to develop him properly. Given how they've gone about it this year.
Watching him in the WAFL just doing his thing as a midfielder is great to watch. Gets to play his natural game like he did in his first couple AFL appearances.
It's how he's been used at AFL level since and how I expect him to continue being used compared to Graham, Hewett, Reid, Kelly, which has me backtracking on my initial "Gross has got 'it'" claim.
Whole heartedly agree. Just like McGovern, when you know you know.Sometimes you just know if a kid has it or not. Like everyone except McQualter could see Archer doesn't have it as a key forward.
This kid has it in spades.
It was reported (two ? weeks ago) extension discussions have commenced.Extend him tomorrow.
GUYS WRITE OFF THE 18 YEAR OLD UNDERSIZED NOT AFL FIT KID CAUSE HE CAN'T AVERAGE 30 DISPOSALS IN HIS FIRST YEAR AS A MIDFIELDER IN THE WORST TEAM IN HISTORY.
JFC I swear there a days I wish someone would set the Bigfooty servers on fire.

Any game time at AFL level will let him know what the standard required is. Next year will be his turn for the proper midfield role you'd imagine.Considering this is a Shanahands thread i'll keep it brief. I think the club knows we have a mid in Gross but is trying to squeeze him into the side to catch the pace of AFL regardless of the role he's playing.
I personally don't like that plan it just hinders his confidence. Would prefer he just played Mid at WAFL as he develops but I can see what the club is trying to do.
Will be more concerned if it continues like this next year though.
