We are definitely gearing up to have a back-half game style. If say Melbourne rip it out of the centre square it's going to be crucial to get a spoil in and flick it out to our running half backs.

The speed, evasiveness and run down tackles I expected.

Being a decent mark and having an accurate chip kick at speed - that was a pleasant surprise.

But kicking running goals from inside the centre square?? Seriously???

Hate to say it, but maybe we didn't overpay.

(As for Bell's comment on where he will play, personally I'm not fussed by that.

Once you acquire a dangerous weapon, you don't then go telling your opposition where it will be located or how you intend to use it.

A positive thing we should take into account is the age demographic Clark is leaving/coming to. A work environment with the majority of people being the generation above you or beyond (in football terms probably 4-5 years) can be extremely isolating. The life experiences, time after work, conversations and friend circles are comprehensively different. Clark probably would enjoy a hike or picking up chicks at Torquee. The old-heads at Geelong (so 80%) would more than likely much rather hanging out with their wives/kids and renovate a house.

Coming into an environment with a similar age demographic and interests could have a monumental psychological shift in his mental and physical state which brings the best out in him.

He did say this in his interview. He grew up as a WCE supporter - am guessing he wasn't keen on going to an older side, and said he loved the youth at Freo.
