#29 Luke Foley (Subiaco/Western Australia)

The over-age midfielder has found his straps this season after missing out on being drafted last year. He has become more influential with and without the ball, making good decisions and using it well through the midfield and around the ground. He has a consistent base week-in, week-out and could provide some immediate relief to a team craving an inside midfielder. He made the WAFL Colts Team of the Year despite battling injuries at times, and was solid through the National Under 18 Championships. Expected to be the third or fourth West Australian drafted behind Ian Hill and Jordan Clark, and perhaps Sydney Stack

State level runner from 400m to 1600m. Maybe he’s the Masto succession plan, or even an upgrade. At 188cm, it looks like he’ll offer more of a marking threat than Masto, more of a contested game and better depth of kicking.

Reminds me a little bit of Matt Rosa.

Not upset by that comparison at all, he’s a good size, seems to use it well and by the highlights looks good above his head.

As mentioned above could be a good masten replacement on the wing, using his running capacity to push back and run hard forward.

We’ve got some good runners he can buddy up with so here’s hoping he goes well.

Welcome to the club Luke!

Going way back, there was a Foley playing for WP, Brian, Iirc, a ruckman. Does anyone know if our Luke is from that family line?
