Out of interest, is Nick considered to be an elite runner by national athletic standards?

Also, with Eagles he will be our NEAFL ruck with a lot to prove. Great situation for both parties.
No, he'd be a fair way off what elite runners can do. Although he'd also be lugging around 20kg or so of muscle more than they do

Yes, way off elite athlete standards. He ran in the Noosa 5000m bolt just for some fitness and came second last. He was 93kgs then (two weeks ago) and the other runners were 65kgs as he was talking to them (couldn't get over how small they were) he ran the 5ks in 17mins 58seconds and the winner was 14mins and 14seconds. He said he kept up with them for the first 1000m but they were showing no sign at all of slowing down so thought now way and just went back to his normal run pace. Good for a run but that is crazy pace over 5ks!!!!

93 kg is quite some unit. What would his preferred playing weight be?

If he wasn't carrying the muscle and was more of a whippet like the other runners he probably would have shaved minutes off
