The only reason there are “body of work” nominations later in the year is they run out of nominees and none of those who haven’t already been nominated perform at a level to get a nom on its own merit.
Outside of Rowell, Sholl put together probably the best game of any of the candidates this season

It is a tricky one though, using the best player of the round criteria, technically the best overall player for the season could go the season without being nominated.

I think the way social media has erupted is vindication in itself.
The AFL have had a mare of epic proportions this year. Add this to the list.
