out small forward list certainly has question marks over it so more options there dont hurt.

Murphy, Stengle, McAdam, Knight, etc give us options but none you can bank on.
Keays could be the Lincoln McCarthy of this year

New coach gives everyone a new chance. Plus Murphy has already signaled he wants to up his game and kick more goals in Betts absence, now Keays adds more pressure to that spot

Think that’s a good thing

Same pace as Dan Rioli....that's not slow by afc standards
I have a thing about running times on a hard surface versus running on an oval

Consensus if you look at phantom drafts from 2015 and BRIS board .... he’s not quick , in the same conversation as M.Crouch

I'm not looking at the absolute values but the values relative to other players

If their rationale is mature depth in SANFL to protect the kids then fair enough.

Of course no one has ever drafted guns in the rookie draft so who cares.

You couldnt be more wrong so I hope it was sarcasm

It helps me to know my No.1 Pick for us in the Rookie draft Bendigo Pioneer Brady Rowles was already gone to the Swans before our pick. Astute judges Kinnear Beatson and Simon Dalrymple.... ;) :fire:

Not sure that’s accurate though .... me with my size 12 boots always struggled on ovals ... but hard surfaces ... i was a jet :p .... relatively speaking

Not his biggest fan but probably hard done by at Brisbane and worth another rookie shot. Partington is a superior player however, would have preferred him.

It's a massive step up from NEAFL to AFL but hopefully we can utilise him properly for a worthy second chance.

Ive got this feeling where there's an unspoken rule between Adelaide and the SANFL clubs that if we're taking a mature age talent it's not from the SANFL clubs.

Wilson was the last one, Westies were mega pissed.

Just off the top of my head.

Absolutely it was sarcasm!

People happy for mediocre talent, even from pick 40-odd in ND saying “oh well, late pick, doesn’t matter”

As an immediate family member I can assure you you’ve just drafted a guy who will give 110% every training session, treat every fan and staff member with respect and will be a huge addition to the locker room.

Not blessed with top end talent but has made the very most of what he has. Played some very good junior footy too and showed plenty of improvement at AFL level the last 2 years but couldn’t get a good run at it. Looking forward to jumping on board
Cheers BlackGun1 ... i have always liked the way he goes about it , very happy we have given him a chance .
22 is the perfect age for players who really want it to step up and push hard to realize their dreams .
It ain't old that is for sure .

I watched a shedload of the Lions NEAFL this season and this bloke absolutely killed it playing more as a forward than a mid. Smart pick with his size and versatility. Will play more AFL in 2020 than some may think.
Thankyou , someone who gets it ... plus i like us adding a few lefties to our list .
He gets in the right spots and is a natural goal kicker .

As long as they're only lefties in regard to their kicking....... ;) :fire:

I am a Murphy fan, but from what I have seen of Keays Murph could play a bit of SANFL this year.

Quite like this pick.
