This always gets me cause I was in primary school when he debut for us and now I'm pushing. He's the last active athlete I loved from a kid to adult hood

Duan referred to him as a key forward, not sure if they view him like that or that was said by accident

After some constructive feedback from BF, they didn’t want to say that they really saw him as a HBF who can play in midfield.

“All going to plan I will head over, train for a bit and then it should all be good.

Even though he was touted that he’d be the first pick for the past few weeks, Maric was still overwhelmed when his name was called and said he even broke down again when his new coach Adam Simpson picked up the phone.

“He congratulated me and was saying how good it is to have me at the club and wants to meet me,” Maric said.

“I got a bit emotional when I was talking to him as well, he’s a good guy and I can’t wait to get over there and meet him.”

In reality he is a kid but looks to be a footy player.

According to this article, Ryan Maric was a midfielder, had a growth spurt of 30cm in a year at 15. Sounds similar to Tim English?

Well to be fair, Scott Lycett was born on the same day we won the 1992 flag - so it’s been an issue for a while.

Yeah, but Scotty Lycett would have been older than me in 2006 than I was in 1992/94, so would have at least seen Cuz, Juddy and The Big Q, so it's not so bad

Looks, moves and kicks the footy very much like Jack Lukosius in these highlights.

I was thinking Jack Gunston type. But Lukosious works as well.

At their best they play around two (or at least one) genuine key forwards, but are capable of being a contested mark when requried if a more mobile defender is put on them, but can also get up the ground using their agility if a bigger less mobile defender is put on them.

One thing I hope he brings to the table is the discipline he must have had to lose so much weight and come back from glandular fever. It’s going to be important that our players training standards are of the highest order.

I think back to when Richmond brought in Ben cousins and were blown away by his routine and preparation.
