Edwards is playing half back because he can’t get near our midfield.

Marsh they’ve talked about as a wing, not centre mid.
You don't think Edwards is playing in the back lines because the club saw the defensive aspects of his game as a weakness and so have put him there in order to improve that weakness?

I believe you are on the right track. More specifically I think to add another string to his bow as most mids/utilities need more than one position to play to help with various rotations. Teams love flexibility so that if the normal midfield structure is not working due to match ups tags or what ever, the player can still participate and contribute and so not be a liability or drag on the team while someone else runs through the middle.

Plus, the Club is big on developing positional flexibility

Wing I can understand, but we we’ve got 2 high draftees playing half back who can’t get a game, one of them drafted as a mid. So why the hell would we want to turn him into a half back? **** we are dumb sometimes.
You have a kid who has bloomed late and landed forward as a very lean kid. Maybe him and Max are like for like and a lefty from defence ain't bad for us.

I think you need to accept Mitch is 3 years away and who knows what we need then with the rapid changes of footy

No. I think they put him back there because of his leg and thought they could use that.

Besides, who has said that weakness exists?

So did you ever find those melts?

That was last year. I’d be developing him as a mid again in the Sanfl

There is no such thing as developing a midfielder in the SANFL outside of maybe a short window in someone's 1st campaign. SANFL midfield is a dead spot where it's just permanent depth guys/fill ins whose job it is to keep the SANFL side competitive.

Want to develop Edwards as an inside mid? Get him in the AFL side as a half back flanker or wing.

Absolutely not.

We put Edwards on the half back flank because that's where we plan to integrate him into the AFL side.

Except our half back spots are reserved for underachieving senior players.

I can remember a time in here when all the ppl now complaining about players playing in the wrong position in the twos were complaining that we never try our players in other positions in the AFL side.

The club does things that should make them happy and they're still unhappy lol.

What does this mean?
Probably some sequence of events along the lines of one of our coaches getting lost inside the equipment locker, fumbling their way outside into the bright sunlight, mistaking Mitch for any one of our other 45 half back flankers, and then trying to save face by asking him how he's going to go at half back this year.

You seem confused. The complaint wasnt about the new recruits being played out of position it was the Murphys and the top ups playing in positions that should have been designated for new recruits
were complaining that we never try our players in other positions in the AFL side.
Never saw this. What I have seen is questions around selection methods ie Milera at half back in the 1st month instead of Nankervis and then doubling down by playing Nankervis on the wing. HB is Nankervis spot not wing.

Cumming played wing when hmm HB was his spot previously but we left Laird there

To be fair both had good seasons but its not silly to ask those questions

tl;dr - we play players out of position in deference to senior players.

Yeah I know right people are so unhappy 28 years and no flag and finishing top and not winning a quarter

Why cant people be happy

You have a habit of making stuff up so you can criticise anonymous posters. The fact you have sheep liking this rubbish keeps you going I guess
