If he can kick goals and has natural goal awareness, he is exactly the type we needYou can tell he's going to be the kind of player that is clean ball handling, nimble and harrassing. Kicking and handling ability is unknown

Couple of nice traps and and quick handsPreference is up forward (junior days as midfielder/forward) but watching his D saw the defender in him, tenacious.
I needed a laugh like that!Cannot believe this guy fell to us, had him in my top 10.
Welcome Matt.
Oh geez I thought he was serious. Thought maybe he’d seen him at junior level. Durrrr.I needed a laugh like that!
But seriously, I hope he finds his mojo on the footy field and has a long career with us. We don't seem to be able to manage that with our Irishmen.
who is this guy and he
hasn’t leap-frogged the Down Memory Lane thread?
FWIW here are my basketball scouting notes about Mathew (albeit most from 2016)
Speed - Is seriously quick (ran 2.85 over 20m), fantastic lateral quickness and agility.
Great vertical leap for his size
Good awareness and decision making (as PG)
Enormous work rate.
Not sure what his foot skills are like though.
I also think 1.85m is a stretch (he’s closer to 5”11)
He’s been mentioned @ 183 or 185cms so far, so likely the former ‘eh?

He's not quick, he's sudden. Could be a shrewd move.
Welcome Matt, hopefully more of a success than our last basketballer, Matt Korcheck
But Matt Owies was a junior footballer, right? Probably says that in this thread somewhere (which i haven't actually read)
....and even better, we beat the Cat poachers for himCannot believe this guy fell to us, had him in my top 10.
Welcome Matt.
Basketball players are usually measured in shoes, so good chance he's probably 3-4 cm's shorterHe’s been mentioned @ 183 or 185cms so far, so likely the former ‘eh?
Pretty sure its not all about you my very (by plenty) good friend.who is this guy and why has his thread leap-frogged the d word?
Tops Bagger.Welcome Matt. No expectations for the kid other than he tries his guts out and fights for the jumper. If he develops into a player that is senior 22 quality, then that's fantastic. Some skills will be transferable from bball but hopefully he can pick back up on his very good junior footy that he apparently played. Go well!
ow!Pretty sure its not all about you my very (by plenty) good friend.
