Wayne Siekman says: The club was extremely excited to be able to select Stacey with our ninth overall pick. A tall player, Stacey plays in a lower division in the Victoria Women's Football League for Port Melbourne as a ruck/forward. During her time in the state academy earlier this year she played down back and developed into a solid defender. She is rarely beaten one on one and has one of the longest kicks in the academy. She will no doubt play a key role for our club as a key defender and take some of the biggest names in the women's game. She loves a challenge and has always worked hard for everything she has done and no doubt will do the same for this club.

My favourite player of our girls. Not our best, but a tough, hard old fashioned full back. Rarely beaten. Looks like she’s always belonged at Vic Park. Cut from the same cloth as our old defenders. Gets a lot of support from the Sherrin Stand.
